Aint it cool news posted this from an email Fat Harry recieved:

She/he/it said the title had been 'Rise of the Empire', but George Lucas recently changed his mind, and it will now be titled 'The Creeping Fear'. She/he/it said this refers to a hooded Death type character who wipes out the Jedi.

Of course, remember this is a "news" site with weird gigantic colored font on every page, not just for headlines! So take it for what it's worth!

"The Creeping Fear" does fall in line with the weird ass titles of the first two prequels (both sounded stupid when announced but have since become so "normal" sounding just from being said again and again.

"The Creeping Fear" makes me think of that Metallica Song, Creeping Death.

What do you guys think? I'm guessing George Lucas doesn't want to use a title that is what fans expect (people were so ready to have Episode II be called "The Clone Wars" and people are now expecting "Rise of the Empire" which to me sounds too much like Terminator 3's stupid title.)

I would have just called it, Star Wars: Episode III: The Empire Stikes that way they will "Stike Back" a couple episodes later.

He begins the post with Ordinarily I would stay about 30,000 miles away from a rumor about the title of the final Star Wars prequel

Like he doesn't post every rumors he gets his hands on.

Lucas loves those pulp titles, but I just don't see Creeping Fear falling in line with his visions. Besides, aren't the big bad guys the Emporer, Anakin and General Grevious?

I didn't make it up, I just read it on every site trying to spoil the end of the Clone Wars cartoon. Plus it was on the cover of the Insider.

Way back in 1982, before some of you youngens had your balls drop, I got what was supposedly a story treatment for the third film, and while it was later discounted as bogus there were some things about it that I always loved, including the title: STAR WARS EPISODE III: FALL OF THE REPUBLIC.

Of course, isn't in this new convoluted George Lucs world, the Republic is actually the Empire?? That evil snuck and they accepted them as one of them (Gabba! Gabba! Hey!). So it can't actually fall - it was just voted and made moot. Maybe the title can be "STAR WARS EPISODE III: COVERT LEGISLATION OF THE MAGISTRATE."

I thought last week's Simpsons' take on it was brilliant. The boredom and cluelessness.

"Creeping Fear" falls in line with "Phantom Menace" which was a reference to Darth Spikeyface; "Attack of the Clones" has grown on me, and I was someone who rolled my eyes when I first heard it.

"The Creeping Fear," though, just reminds me of a 3 year old niece of an old girlfriend who called "Sleeping Beauty" "Creeping Booty," which I think would make a far better Star Wars title.

Well then, I choose death.

I thought last week's Simpsons' take on it was brilliant. The boredom and cluelessness.

And their take on the braindead fans will, I'm certain, hold true for this film when it comes out.

"Worst Star Wars ever! I'll only see it three more times......today!"

Star Wars Episode III: Return of the Jed... oh wait, that doesn't work.

Well, he never did use "Revenge of the Jedi," even though they printed, and recalled posters, Variety ads, and even some of the toys and video games with that as the title/logo.

(I still have my variety ad!)

Hey! This could make sense! His reasoning for the last movie was that Jedi's didn't believe in revenge, but if little orphan Ani crosses over, it could be considered his "Revenge!"

Ooooh! I like it! The old school fans could be back on board.

Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith would work.

Do you have the Variety pull out, or the one sheet - and if a one sheet is it the reprint the fan club put out, but didn't mark it as a reprint?

Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith would work.

I have always hated the word "Sith." It just sounded like somebody with a lisp was telling telling me to join them at their dinner table.

If Gary Oldman actually voices that character (who seems to be very cool and intresting, so that means Lucas will fuck it up like he did with Darth Maul)
