GameCube Problems

My Gamecube has recently started to really fuck with me. I put in the disc and I push power but the game disc's don't spin. Therefore, I can't play the game.

The disc's are all fine and I can't seem to find anything wrong. Does anyone know anything I can do for this?

How do you take a knee if you're already sitting in a chair. Also, I own a GameCube and I'm damn glad I do. There's some fucking great exclusive titles on it, including F-ZERO and the newly released Metal Gear Solid. While PS2 is also great, GameCube definitely deserves props. A good way to fix your system may be to just buy a new one and not let your cat piss on it again.

hawk, the mechanics of taking a knee are not too hard to figure. it could make you a diagram if needed.

there are good nintendo titled games, but ps2 has the best games.

But the very reason someone takes a knee is because something has happened which has rendered them incapable of standing up. In this case, it would be laughing. But if you're already sitting, taking a knee makes no sense. However, I have a feeling the term was being used figuratively.

I've never had that problem with it. My advice is to bring it back to the store and get a new one. That's why I buy the warranties for my X-Box at Best Buy. It broke down a year later and i was still covered.

I'm going to go today to the game store. I'll get a new one probably. Repairing it cost so much. It's almost a better deal to just get a new one. It just sucks because I'm going to have to somehow make my parents pay for it because I'm flat out broke.

Get trade in credit for your broken one at a gamestop or electronics boutique and buy a reconditioned system from them. That's probably your cheapest option.

I might be worth at least calling Nintendo befor etrading in the Gamecube. They might repair it for free, unlike those greedy bastards at Sony. Of course, you will have to pay to ship it to them and you'll also be without it for a couple of weeks, but its worth a shot if you want to save some money.

I've concluded that the motor must have burned out. There is nothing wrong with the thing that holds the disc in place.

I'm going to get a used one in the next few days. Maybe I'll get one of the bundles where you get a game, and then sell the game back.

My sister's CD player (stereo, not portable) had a problem where the CD wouldn't spin. It would try and fail. It would move a little and then stop. She was ready to throw it out. So I said I'd take a look at it.

So I took it apart, checked all the wiring, the gears, all the stuff that you could look at. Nothing seemed wrong. So, out of a hunch, I put everything back together, took a Q-Tip, and cleaned the laser. And the damned thing worked.

Maybe it isnt reading the disc, which is why the disc isn't spinning. Just a thought. If it doesn't move at all though, that could probably mean that GameCube just automatically sucks, and you should get a PS2 or an XBox.

Snoogans just has sand in his vagina because he has no job and can't afford a gamecube.

clean the laser, shine a flashlight in and make sure nothing is blocking the laser housing (it can move back and forth freely). If you have a can of compressed air, blow it in there.

The motor may not have burned out, it could be one of a list of things. As HBOx said, call nintendo and they can give you ideas of other things to do.

On the same note , kinda, my XBOX as of late has been haing problems. Mainly with EA games, especially all their sports games. It will just randomly stop working and i will get a message that the game disc is dirty or damaged.

Now i checked their site, and they say that you shouldn't have thirde party controllers or any peripherals (i.e. dvd sensor) plugged in when you play them, and to delete any files that may already be corrupted.

Now, I always take my dvd thing out, but i still get the problem. I've gotten a few ea games since i found this out, but i cant even play NHL because it wont play for more than ten minutes. I get a lot of problems with madden and NCAA football as well.

Has anyone esle had this problem? Please answer my question before you get back to giving Keithy any more useful suggestions because I'm more important than he is.

I researched x-box hardware pretty heavily when someone gave me a broken one (bad dvd-rom drive). Quite simply, there are 3 type of dvd drives that could be put into an x-box when it's manufactured. (Phillips, Thompson and Samsung).

Thompson is not only the most common of the 3, but it is also most prone to the "disc dirty or damaged error." Ultimately, all you can do is replace the dvd drive or the x-box.

Yeah, Dave most likely has the Thompson drive (as I do) and they suck big time. Thompsons were the original drives used on launch and for a year or so. Now all new Xboxs use the Samsung drive. Also, the shit Thompson drives don't read CD-Rs or DVD-Rs which is a big problem if you want to put burned music on the hard drive. Take a look at this picture to see what drive you have:
