Again, I tried to watch and halfway through it is still the same old shit. It is really a shame to me becasue I used to hold South Park so near and dear and now they have clearly gone into the territory of beating a dead horse. Anyone looking to buy some South park DVD's?

Or has the show just gone the direction of poking fun of current events and applying it to the show. My sister keeps on nagging and nagging me to watch cause she and everyone else it seems to swear it keeps getting better. Maybe being an animator (and a shitty one at that) I want more in my cartoons. I want some sort of intelligence in my toilet humour if that is at all possible.

Okay episode, the training montage footage was great.

I recognized the "push it to the limit" song from GTA 3...but I thought the best "montage" song they did was the "Training Montage" song when the kids were up in Aspen and their parents were locked up in the timeshare meetings...

I think that might be my all time favorite episode....it even features Butters doing the "safety dance"

The episode was not all that bad for the first one I have seen in a year or so. After all of my tooling and criticism, I had to be realistic and I took the job in character designing and pencils I was offered with South park Studios. Now I pretty much have to watch to study the techniques and styles of how the show is done. At least it is a step in the right direction even though its not the Simpsons.

So far ive loved the new season. Mat and Trey are funy mother fukers. I didnt like the passion episode last night as much as i love the premire with the ninja shit. last night had it moments wiht cartman starting the 3rd rike to follow melgibson but the melgibson daffyduk portail was prety fukin dumb. I also though the special olymics was the fnest shit ever with Jimmy and Push it to the LImit playing. i oculdnt stop laughing. I Cant with for the next episode

There is a great, great episode on the NY Times online today about South Park.

The author, Virginia Hefferna, nails the point of this show. She writes the exact feeling I have had when I watch this show and try to get others to watch it, which is probably why my journalism career wouldn't get much further than a "Dazed And Confused is awesome!" movie review.

I think the Giant Gay Redneck Orgy Pile cancelled out any preachy feeling I was getting early on.

Plus I like the fact that when they were making a better future they decided it was gay and stopped. They seemed way to happy to get back into the pile!

I agree that was a bad episode but yesterdays was very funny. Sure it was a little preachy, but come on, you werent cracking up? They took our jrbs! Back to the pile! Thats was a really hilarious episode, not as good as some of the others ones but funny nonetheless.
