I don't remember any thread about this being done before...

I just loaded our DVD collection onto dvdaficionado.com and I thnk it's mostly completely, although I know we've got a few DVDs lent out to assorted people and I can't remember all of them offhand at the moment..

Just looking at it, I'm estimating the Chairman's CD collection at somewhere around 1800 CDs. Personally I think I have about 200.

Since I hardly ever sit still enough to watch movies (I'd rather be dancing or working out), I only own two DVDs-- a bootleg copy of 8 mile given to me by some guy who liked me before it came out and a porno DVD which I never got to watch because there was a large crack in it. Hell, I use my DVD player as a CD player anyway.

At one time I have about 300 - 400 VHS tapes, but then thinned the heard, so the speak. Right now I only have a small hand-full of tapes of stuff not out on DVD yet (Mandingo, Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill!) and some really obtuse independent shit I've collected, and lots of stuff I've taped over the years.

My CD collection is around 200, but I'm always getting rid of stuff when I get new stuff in.

I have about 150 DVDs now, and every 3 or 4 months I thin them out (right now I'm thinking of unloading the Matrix movies and most of the Kevin Smith's).

Some kung fu, horror, a few 1970s, some classics, some foreign, all the John Waters, some Disney, a lot of television, a lot of Blaxploitation, experimental, etc.

On my "wish list" I have "The Flintstones" and "The Jetsons" seasons one, the new Charlie Chaplins that just came out, the Universal "Monster Legacy" (http://www.monsterlegacy.com)box sets (actually worked out a deal to get that for free - woo! hoo!), "Ed Wood" (if they ever really release that damn thing), "Kill Bill 1," "Star Wars," and Russ Meyer's "Beneath the Valley of the Ultravixens," one of two films cowritten with Roger "Perv" Ebert!

I think if anything I will have to enter my DVD's and VHS tapes into my Excel file. Does it take a considerable amount of time to load up all of your video titles or is it pretty much just your basic data entry? Pretty much my entire media collection can be viewed here.

All of My Shit (Excel File) (http://pleaseforgetme.com/SIGS/AV ALLOF MYSHIT.xls )

Since Mike the Teacher showed his, this is My Living Room (http://pleaseforgetme.com/SIGS/MyLivingRoom.jpg)

No offense to those who do but I don't know if (and it is a BIG if) I ever get myself into a relationship if we could ever combine collections. The most heartbreaking thing of the break up (cause I know I would get dumped) woul dbe having to split up the collections as she goes off onto someone better. I could never dealw ith that. Maybe after marriage I could consider combining collections. Only then could I even begin to be secure enough.

I also have the Star Wars Episode IV - VI DVD's but I got them from China. The picture quality is ok on them and the audio is a little bit off but they pass. The really cool thing though is how it has the original trailers from the 70's and 80's for each movie, Just so strange to see them again.

Curtoid, I believe Russ Meyer has released Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill! on DVD along with the rest of his Bosommania gems! They are $40 a piece. What a drag! The cool thing is if you buy 2 you get one free so it breaks down to roughly $26.66 each. I would get them to replace my entire Russ Meyer video collection but I want extras and whatever bonus material they could find and dig up. I can only imagine UP! on DVD!!! Lorna on DVD! Supervixens on DVD!

I had stumbled across those before and those are French Releases. If I am getting any film by Russ Meyer it has to have his BosomMania seal of approval on it. I would just hate to get screwed in the long run later on down the line.

Wow thanx! That's one wall of my basement.

Wow this is so materialistic. And I'm the worst. I dislike all the collecting. I'd *like* to show you my Collections, but, for example; My VHS collection? Well; this pictures isn't my VHS collection. It's not even the "M" section of my VHS collection. It's just the MST3K section of the "M" section of the VHS section.

Oh! Laserdisc. That's how you get Star Wars on DVD, home made like I did. The laserdiscs are out there; containing a digital transfer in at least Dolby if not 5.1 surround. You get a box that strips Copy Protection and a Recording DVD thingy; The Panasonic DMRs are nice; and you got your Star Wars. Mine has 5.1 either encoded or synthesized from the DMR. The quality is not what I expect the relases to be; but it's good enough to blow the VHS out of the water.

Screen Grabs from the Star Wars DVD; with a line doubler synthesizing away; you can get that 'each frame is a photo' quality; no scan lines, which are ALWAYS present on the VHS; plus the tapes are filled with so much MacroVision copy protection; that they look like shit:

Aren't those Educational Archives GREAT!. I love those. I loved it when O & A introduced those and did them over the air. Too bad I will never get to hear that again.

Did you ever hear of these?

TV Carnage (http://www.tvcarnage.com/)

I hear these guys just tape hours upon hours upon hours of tv and mix it together on video. Kind of like what EBN did back in the day.

Hell's Highway: The True Story of Highway Safety Films (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/HellsHighwayTheTrueStoryofHighwaySafetyFilms-1123478/dvd.php)

I still need to pick this one up.

Look! MORE Educational archives! (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/ref=dp_sr_00/103-1560410-4499853)

Along those lines, this audio project is pretty damn cool too.

[color=purple]I was very unfamilar with GG Allin until the chairman played the documentary for some of us one night. I've been trying to work up the courage to take my dick out on stage ever since.

For those who haven't seen it, it's very worth a viewing. If for no other reason than you've never seen anything like it before.

I'm only 19 titles behind the chairman and too cute, and it's just me by myself. Plus 2 of my titles weren't in their system (Hell comes to Frog Town, and The Jessie Ventura Story) This either says alot about my love of movies, or all of the weekends I spend alone, you decide.

Your goods? No, Jon was asking you to post what DVDs you have, not nude pictures.

Surely the "most treasured things" in your home aren't a stack of 5" Silver/gold plastic Discs.

I thought my collection would be way over 200, but dvdafficionado.com lists the sets of movies as one title (Like The Back to the Future Trilogy, Godfather Trilogy, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Alien Quadrilogy and Diehard Trilogy)

When I saw it in Best Buy, I just had to have it. It's a pure comic classic.

There was no need to remake it. I never saw the version with Steve Martin, but just from the commercials it seems like a complete disaster.
