View Full Version : Lesnar Gone after Wrestlemania?

pwinsider is reporting that he told WWE management he is done after Mania. In my opinion this is a huge blow to them. I read about this the other day and it sounded like he wasn't happy about his next feud, which was to be with the Undertaker...or as he apparently is called the "Smackdown HHH". and now it seems he is going to try the NFL.

here is the link:

This really sucks. Lesnar, Guerrero, and Angle were the only reasons to watch Smackdown ever since Benoit left.

i think it's unfortunate that he's turning his back on the very company that made Brock Lesnar, Brock Lesnar.

Earliest April Fools joke ever?

If not, this is absolute insanity. He's not happy with being less than the #1 guy in wrestling, so he's going to give the NFL a try?!?!? Did they due a thorough evalution of his mental state after that botched moonsault?

I think he's just not happy with Taker steamrolling and no selling through the roster, with him being one of the major conquests.

or maybe he's sick of the backstage crap, schedule and isn't happy working in this line of work.

Not everyone is happy at their job, even if they are the "top guy" in the company.

Brock in the NFL? Him leaving would be a huge blow to Smackdown!. They are strapped for main eventers as it is.

Another wacked out Wrestler. The WWE pumps him like no one else. He is beating all the stars. And what does he do... I don't want to be a wrestler. The hell will him I say. Tons of people would have loved to be in his shoes. Did he have talent... HELL YEA..... But still the WWE left him. I hope I never have to see his punk ass again. Is it to hard to ask for wrestlers who actually like the business????

This is totally unexpected. Yet for me I can see that he would have done it anyway with the way they were pushing him to be an unstoppable superstar in the beginning, to making him the youngest champion in the history of the company, and then being called the Greatest WWE Champ of all time. WWE did this to themselves.

So what happens on Sunday? If Lesnar and Goldberg are leaving why would the WWE want to put either one over, if only for one match. Does Austin stun them both and leave them both flat on thier backs or will Vince give one of them a clean exit victory?

in the NFL he plays for a few years he gets that pension and is set. WWE has no pension no retirement. Maybe he doesnt wanna end up like those old broke guys who use to be stars and now wrestle in school gyms or town fairs. If he has the skill and is young enough , I dont blame him

When I first read the news, I was upset. But after thinking about it, I respect Brock for doing this. I truly believe that he may even return a few years down the road. He's young enough to do so. He may very well have been going through serious burn out. Has anyone ever been pushed to the moon as quickly as he was? Not even Goldberg was.

After reading an article on the Torch, I realize that wrestling has to incorporate some kind of "off season", if you will. Not everyone should have to be in the WWE for as long as the Undertaker is to be entitled to a break. These guys only get time off if they are injured.

I think he'll be back eventually.

I can't help but feel he's making a huge mistake. He's young, and at the beginning of what could have been (and still might be) a stellar career.

I also can't help but feel that he'll eventually be back in wrestling. He may just be pulling an "Austin" here.

I was thinking about that too. I forgot for a sec that Austin was the ref.
I think if Austin wasn't in it, it may have been match of the night.
Since it's the last match for both, they may think "Let's go out with a bang and have the best match we can have"
But I too think that Austin will beat the Hell out of both of them, there will be a double 10 count, and that will be it.

Thanks for the memories Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg. It was real, and it was fun, but it wasn't real fun ;p

maybe this is a work to add some speculation as to who will win Sun. Everyone knows that Goldberg is gone, so if they start a rumor that Lesnar is leaving too, that changes everything. I lean more toward that he is leaving, but it is just a thought.

FollowThisLogic

I wouldn't be too quick to believe the "it's a work" theories after watching Smackdown.... they pretty clearly showed the entire roster turning their backs on Brock. At least, that's what it looked like to me. I figured it to be a "respect for Austin" thing until Show's reaction.....

Brock went too high, too quickly. He went through the roof without having to really work his way there..... he didn't have to really learn how the business works. Now instead of being the monster who goes over everyone, he has to put people over... first the title, then Taker.... and he's having a temper tantrum.

I'm hoping they work the story angle that Heyman put Lesnar at the expense of the all the other wrestlers to the detriment of Smackdown. Maybe this will change things so it's not every face against management. I like Heyman's character, but he shouldn't be involved in every storyline.

I really liked Show's little spot there at the end.

I also think that this a "work" to put some doubt about the Lesner/Goldberg match.

Most ppl know Goldberg will be gone and think he'll leave. So I bet the WWE threw out this rumor about Lesner leaving so there could be some mystery in the match.

If he does leave, it will probably be Lesner taking some time off.

I do agree that WWE has to give these guys some sort of "off-season" to heal injuries, spend some time with family and be motivated again when they come back. I think that will benefit the writers as well. Give them the spring or summer off, I know I wouldn't mind.

Bottom line, I think Lesner is going nowhere.

It doesn't have to be set in a spring/summer sort of way. But it would probably be great all around for wrestlers to cycle out for a couple of months, to rest, heal and re-energize.

It might also force the writers to be more creative and work with more of the wrestlers.

At first, I really didn't like Lesnar when I began watching wrestling again after years last summer. But then I saw his energy, and the fact that he's the ONLY big guy that'll sell his opponents moves. I also saw that although his promos lagged due to his non-existent mic skills, but shows a lot of heel antics and reacts with the crowd well. The guy also has good ring-psychology, and can make the best out of a match on his end. I hope Lesnar's just taking a vacation to clear his head.

Agreed!!! If this story is true and he is leaving, Brock should have known that there is no off season in wrestling and the travel schedule is demanding. He has gotten the fastest push of all time, meanwhile more deserving wrestlers like Benoit and RVD continue to get dicked over by the creative team

I still half believe this is a work, especially since the Vikings - the team he's been reported as possibly trying out for - haven't made a single contact with him (or, apparently, were even aware were being associated with him in the dirt sheets).

Hopefully Brock will take a little time off - not much, maybe a month or two - and then come back reenergized. It's not unbelievable that he's getting burned out at such a young age, but if he legit can't make it, then he SHOULD leave, because there are many guys who deserve his spot.

He has gotten the fastest push of all time, meanwhile more deserving wrestlers like Benoit and RVD continue to get dicked over by the creative team

Fastest push of all time might have to go with Big Show, who debuted in WCW with a feud against Hulk Hogan - and in his first televised match ever won the world title.

I was very critical of the manner in which Brock was pushed, but at least at some point he stepped up to the plate and developed into a great worker. I can't really think of another guy out there with his size and speed and ability. If he does leave the WWE, he should head straight to Japan, he'd be fucking HUGE there.

God I hope not. Lesnar's leaving because he's got no heart for the business. After two years he can't handle the day in day out grind of being a REAL professional wrestler despite the fact that the WWE made his life and his schedule plush and supplied him with plenty of workers to make him look spectacular. They even gave him a one legged boy to molest and he's gonna bitch out like this? Lesnar's a fucking soft serve pussy if he does indeed leave. A big bitch with no heart. And to close out my ranting: I'm a Japanese wrestling freak and the last thing I want to see is Lesnar on the internet wrecking my buzz because he needs a quick payday so that he can "retire" again.

You make valid points, but you can't deny that he'd do well there. A man his size, who can move the way he does, AND is technically sound? He'd be fucking kingsize. I'd absolutely love to see him go against Tenzan or Nagata.
