Rob Feinstein, founder of Ring of Honor along with partner Gabe Sapolsky, was subject of an underage sex sting operation investigation by Philadelphia's NBC10 news station.
Tonight's report showed Feinstein being confronted by a camera as he approached the front door of a house. According to a web chat, Feinstein thought he was going to meet a 14 year boy home alone whom he had met online. In fact, it was someone posing as a 14 year old boy who worked for an investigative website.
Feinstein drove from Pennsylvania to Chicago to meet the boy, acccording to the webchat.
The news station's reporter tried to ask Feinstein about the situation several times, but each time they attempted to get him on camera for comment, he refused comment.
The reporter stated on tonight's newcast: "Rob Feinstein, a Langhorn businessman who promotes wrestling events (has) his own website with plenty of pictures of himself. We tried to catch up to him at his office and at his home. Each time he saw us, he ran. According to his chat log, he thought he was meeting a 14 year old boy."
The chat log was recorded by Perverted-Justice.com, a website that attempts to catch adults discussing potential sexual encounters with underaged kids. The underage kids are actually adults working for Perverted-Justice.com. The NBC10 news team worked with the website on an investigation. The news story was focused on three individuals lured by the website to the home at different times, one of whom was Feinstein. The other two thought they were meeting underaged girls.
The news story said they would update viewers on whether authorities would seek to file charges against any of the men in the story.
Feinstein, who is in his early 30s, launched the Ring of Honor promotion two years ago as a method of producing fresh royalty-free video tapes of wrestling events for his video business R.F. Video. Feinstein started R.F. Video when he was a teenager. The business consisted largely of selling copies of wrestling events and compiliations of wrestling matches from around the world, many of which were copyrighted and used without permission, but most of which were not offered to the public commercially otherwise.
During the wrestling boom period in the late '90s, R.F. Video grew from just a mail order business to having several retail locations across the country spanning from Pennsylvania to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn.
ROH is scheduled to celebrate its two year anniversary on Mar. 13 in Elizabeth, N.J. at the Rexplex.
