Actually, the Baseball Umps were never fired, their idiot Union Leader told them to resign en masse' as a bargaining tactic, and MLB simply accepted their resignations

People expect officials to be perfect all the time, we forget theyre human, they do make mistakes sometimes. When things are moving as fast as they are in professional sports, sometimes you have to make judgement calls and go with what you see

The only other Ref strike i can think of was back in 88 NHL Playoffs when the Devils coach Jim Schoenfeld told Don Koharski to "get another doughnut you fat pig". The refs got pissed over his lack of/term of punishment, and went on strike, so they had to bring in scab refs for a bunch of games...

The NFL system might work in the NBA, maybe then the players wont bitch about the refs making bad calls. The way I see it the less power a referee has the better That doesnt mean I want to eliminate refs all together, I just dont want them having enough power to change the outcome of the game.

Even the NFL system gets bitched about and makes mistakes....See Billick, Brian

And also see the 2001 AFC Divisional playoffs, otherwise known as the "Tuck Rule" game which still makes this ol' Raiders fan angry

There is no end all solution to bad calls...theyre going to happen, with replay or not...

Well youre never gonna be able to please the coaches. They are bitchin now, theyre gonna be bitchin if you change the system. But at least if you were to introduce the NFL system into the NBA it will cut down the number of bad calls, players bad mouthing the horrible calls, etc.

The NBA becomes more and more of a circus every day. That's a fuckin' disgrace that they were able to walk out there and referee a professional basketball game like that.
