MVP Baseball For PS2

I am really looking forward to this! It's from EA and it comes out on March 9. I've always been a fan of EA's baseball games, but THIS one looks like it's gonna be the best ever! It's got a bunch of new stuff like Dynasty Mode, where you can manage not only your Big League club, but their Minor League clubs as well! They also included something like 15 classic stadiums, and 50 classic players! It also has online play, which I'm lovin'! I just hope I do better than I did with Madden!

i always get the best looking baseball game every year and i'll be sure to get this one but after playing the month of may of my teams schedule i remember how long the baseball season is and sim 2 games out of every 3.

Yeah, I do that too. But with this new Dynasty Mode, I think it will hold my interest alot longer. If I'm bored with my Mets season, I can always play some AAA ball!

Personally, I'm looking forward to ESPN baseball more.

Yeah, ESPN Baseball is going to turn out better than any other baseball game this year. I played the Demo for Xbox and it seems superb.

For the last few years World Series Baseball has always been the best and ESPN Baseball is just a new name for it.

Im leaning towards ESPN right now..mostly because of the GM Mode...you get to be GM, not owner, and you have an owner that wants certain things done, like you could have an owner that is concerned more with saving money than winning, or an owner like a Dan Snyder etc. Sounds really really cool, and i loved WSB last year...fabulous game...And even more classic unis you don't have to unlock...already there...

MVP is gonna have that too. I don't know if the retro-uniforms, stadiums, players have to be unlocked or not, but they'll be there. I have to admit, the ESPN game looks good too! Maybe I'll get both!

Well, I picked it up yesterday, and it is GREAT!!!
There is sooo much stuff in this game, it's gonna take awhile to do everything!

The graphics are a little better. The sound is about the same, but they added extra fan chatter.
They added some stuff to the gameplay. You can do different slides, and you can dive and jump for the ball now. Also, you now can warm up relief pitchers, and the game will show them throwing in the pen. You can also have mount meetings, and the game will say if the pitcher had a positive or negative reaction to it!

The Dynasty mode is PACKED with stuff. You can play your minor league teams, have call ups and send downs, and you can modify your players. Like with Mike Piazza, you can add 1st base as a second position!
And here's a cool little thing. When you create a player, if their last name is a name of an actual player in the game, the announcers will say their name. I made Kaz Matsui, and when I was playing, he made a diving catch, and instead of it just saying "Great play by the short stop" it said "Matsui made a great diving catch!" Very cool!

The online play is very good as well. It's very similar to Madden in the way it's set up, so it should be pretty easy to catch on.
My online record is 2-3, which is not bad since I pretty much went in cold!

Well. the online cheating has started :mad:

I played a guy with the Cubs. After I was up 2 -0 in the second, the game pauses for a second, and all of the sudden its 10-0 Cubs!!!
I IMed the guy on how he did it, and he disco'd.
I restarted and tried again. This time against the Braves. This time the game paused and it started over with no score after again I was up 2-0! Then they tried something else and it locked up.
EA better figure this out and quick!
I don't want to have to restart and then get nailed for disco's that are not my fault! The first time didn't register, and I haven't checked the last one yet.
All I can say is write down who you are playing. If this happens, E-mail EA and rat them out! Also make sure that you block them in your Buddy screen.
I was caught off guard and didn't have pen & paper ready!
I'm ready now though!

I'm 12-12 so far, which is pretty good, considering I'm usually crappy online. But I guess since I got the hang of it pretty quick, and have always been proud of my pitching, it's a good thing ;p

ive gotten it for vuce and it really is the greatest baseball ive ever played. im mets and i released mo vaughn and signed orlando hernandez and urbina as free agents. heres my only problem so far, there are supposed to rivalry aspects to the game. but i cant seem to understand them. i mean i know that theres rivalry rating out of 10. and i opened the season against the braves and it was only a 4. if its 4 against the braves then who else would i have a decent rivalry with. the yanks? but i have to wait until interleague to see.

I think the rivalry rating goes up as the season progresses and if both teams are playing for the postseason.
If you play the Braves in September, and both teams are say, competing for first in the NL East, the rating should be an 8 or higher. If the Braves or Mets are out of it, then the rating will be low.
I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

I got it this weekend and think its great. I sucked my first couple of games. Lost like 40-0, took me a few games to get the controls down. I haven't played a baseball game in years and the last one I owned was Triple Play Gold for Genesis.

Crowd chatter rules. I heard "Lay the smackdown!". Now that's funny!
