I saw the topic of Best in WCW which I cant believe their ever was anything that would fall under a best of when it comes to WCW so I wanted to talk about the promotion that all of us really care about.I think one of the craziest matches I saw was Born to be wired Funk and Sabu.

Whoa - what?
Look, ECW fans should be the LAST people to comment on how poor another promotion's product is.
so I wanted to talk about the promotion that all of us really care about.
All-Japan circa mid-90s?
The answer to your question is: the Tommy Dreamer / Raven feud of 95 / 96.
Nothing ECW ever did outside of that was of consequence or noteworthy.

That feud got my vote
That Funk/Sabu Barbedwire match was sick, and I mean that in very good way

Gee, and here I was sure Se7en would say "the day ECW filed for bankruptcy" was their greatest moment.

Se7en, you're crazy.
Anyway, the Taz/Sabu feud was pretty good as it was a long time coming for Taz to get his revenge on his former tag partner. And they way they set it up was atcually pretty good with Taz taking out half of the ECW locker room, and locking the Tazmission on Heyman which provoked Sabu to come out via his "lights out" entrance. Pure gold, solid matches.

One of my first ECW memories is "Primetime" Brian Lee chokeslamming Tommy Dreamer off a balcony through 3 tables. Also anytime JT Smith sang Sinatra was pure gold.

Man i went to the university of delaware in '94 and '95 and remember going to the bingo parlor every couple of weeks, and i was at the first PPV. Joel Gertners Speech's drew more heat then most things i have ever seen. Seeing Tommy Dreamer hung from a meat hook was quality
Plus Kimona stripping on top of the parlor
ECW had a lot of good times, and i want to know who has the time to watch New Japan wrestling are they even on TV?

My biggest mark-out moment was when Barely Legal was set to go.
Paul E. had kept Sabu and Taz away from each other, a slow build for the match.
SABU FEARS TAZ was the catchphrase du jour.
Finally, Taz snapped in the middle of the ring, and started tazplexing everyone who pissed him off. It finally came down to him and Paul E. He tazplexed Paul E... and the ECW Arena's lights went off...
...and when they came back up, Sabu was in the ring in his sky-pointing stance, and Taz was in the corner, with his pissed-off, arms-crossed stance.
The roof blew off the fucking place.
It was AWESOME.

I liked the setup to the barely legal match, especially the confrontation at NtR 96.
My favorite personal memory is when Bigelow threw Spike into our section at the 97 summer PPV in Florida. He was bleeding like a stuck pig.

It's not so much I'm a puro snob as ECW just really wasn't very good.
GREAT new sig, BTW. Vickie blows every other WWE "diva" away.......at least, until Alexis Laree debuts. ;)

Huh? The katahajime is the greatest submission ever?

I have the time, and no, you pretty much have to just order tapes.
Oh, and Antonio Inoki can suck my purple-headed cock. That one's for you closet New Japan fans out there.

I think so. I am a mark for choke holds.

RVD/ SABU vs Hayabusa/ Hakushi at Heatwave was an awesome match. The raven / Dreamer fued was awesome, I'm surprised the WWE didn't cash in on that. The angle with Lawler was pretty good, but the best had to be the catfights between Dawn and Francine.
Se7en, where do you get your tapes and is ther any specific NJ event or tape you would recommend? Does anyone have any good website to get some tapes?

Yes, I am but a simple mark, but some of the best matches I've ever seen were in the RVD/Jerry Lynn Feud of 1999. They had great matches on TV, too, but their PPV matches at Living Dangerously & Hardcore Heaven were off the chart in my estimation. But it was the RVD/Sabu vs. Hayabusa/Shinzaki match at Hetwave '98 that originally got me to follow ECW as more than a casual fan. That match had more high spots than just about any I've ever seen.

The spot where they kept doing springboards onto RVD while Sabu watched helplessly outside of the ring was great. Hayabusa hits the springboard senton bomb, then Shinzaki does a spring board diving knee to RVD's face, then Hayabusa comes back with the asai moonsault for a nearfall. Other than the missed spots, like the finish where the table didn't break nicely the first time, it was a great match.

I get stuff from different sources. I've been getting stuff from goldenboytapes.com lately, and I still occasionally get stuff from Jeff Lynch, who is the GOD of puro dealers, as he pretty much has everything ever done for EVERY Japanese promotion for the past....shit, 15 years or so. But he's strictly mail order.
As for recommending a specific New Japan tape.....shit. The last really good New Japan PPV I saw was New Japan: 2nd Judgment from Dec. 2000 (which has the remarkable MOTY of Toshiaki Kawada / Masa Fuchi v. Yuji Nagata / Takayuki Iizuka, but I don't know if that's right for you, as you might not understand the backstory behind that - and believe me, the backstory MAKES that match), after that they've been inconsistent as a lot of Inoki's shoot-style bullshit has infected the promotion.
My suggestion: if you have the cash to burn (around $65 ) than you should pick up one of the "Best of Japan" goldenboytapes.com sets. Best of Japan 2002, for instance (or Best of Japan 2003, which should be released soon). They have all of the best matches from all of the major puro feds, including New Japan, All Japan, NOAH and Zero-One. 2002 even has most of the 2002 G-1 Climax tournament on it. It's a pretty good deal - 36 hours worth of material.

RFVIDEO.COM has a great collection of tapes from old ECW,tapes from japan,Shoot interviews, and ROH AND JAPW,I just checked out Best of Low Ki with a ladder match vs Xavier in the Elks lodge, awesome ladder match.Check it out.

I was at that card, Was that the UCW or USA pro? I think they were the same anyway. It still amazes me that Xavier used to be Atlas Security.
Best ECW cluster fuck: Pitbulls vs Raven and Stevie 2 out of 3 falls double dog collars. EVERYTHING happened in that match.
Malenko/Gurrero farewell match. Classic. I was lucky enough to see them Wrestle up in Middletown at my first ever ECW show, and it is still the greatest match I've ever seen live.

I refuse to buy stuff from Feinstein. He's a fucking asshole AND a hypocrite.
I prefer smartmarkvideo.com. The prices are reasonable AND they have tapes from just about every indy fed out there.
I'm trying to buy some PWG (Pro Wrestling Guerrilla) and IWA-Mid-South tapes right now. I especially need more CM Punk, as he's become my new wrestling god for his legit 'punking' the shit out of Teddy Hart.
