One that always springs into mind for me is one Bash at the Beach(cant remember year) where it was Lugar and The Giant/Big Show and Harlem Heat in a fatal 4-way elimination match. Winner is #1 contender to face Hogan for the title. The thing that makes it so memorable is the promo Harlem Heat cut before the match. I dont remember the particulars of it....just Stevie Ray talking trash about Lugar and The Giant/Big Show.....and then Booker T stepping in front of the camera and goin" And when we done with them....HOGAN....you next nigga!!!" All you see is Sensational Sherri and Stevie Ray quickly walking off camera holding in their laugh.

Spring Stampede, 1999, Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Hak (Sandman). Best fought match in WCW history.

best wcw ppv and best wcw match is an oxymoron. none of them were good...

you have to look back to when the wcw was called the NWA. thats where you have the good matches.

STEAMBOAT vs. FLAIR!

great f'n rivalry

The Goon Squad is the underground. Declaring war on everything... Declaring war on nothing. We are your children raised on ritalin and prozac, biting the hand that's reared us... pissing down our heros throats.

All we are is all you have made us...Given nothing. Taking everything. Making this world a place of our own.

The best wcw match in my opinion was at superbrawl 1997. Chris Beniot vs Kevin Sullivan at the cow palace. This match brought the hardcore match to the main stream. The thing that made this match enjoyable was Dusty rhodes commentary

I AM A BIG FAN OF STARRCADE 1997:
Bret Hart returned to PPV, Eric Bischoff vs Larry Zbysko, Sting "returned" to fight Hollywood Hulk Hogan for the championship.

"It matters not how straight the gate,
How charge with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate the
captain of my soul."

I got hooked into WCW (was it NWA at the time?) back in 88. When all the WWF would show was its superstars squashing nobodies or the regular jobber crew, NWA was televising its best stars facing each other and even titles changing hands.

Best memory was of Ric Flair, with the Horseman, celebrating a big title defense (probably against Sting) and going on about how no one could beat him. So he calls out an open challenge...the lights dim, and the music hits for Ricky Steamboat. The Dragon lays waste in the ring and I think that set up that hour-long match everyone still talks about.

Another was between Michael Hayes, the Fabulous Freebird, and a young Lex Luger. This great match was going back and forth when Hayes just hits a DDT out of nowhere for the win. No pomp and circumstance, no long "standing there for a while and then doing the move", just a quick shot for the pin.

Last was between the Steiners and the Skyscrapers (Dan Spivey and Mean Mark Callas). The match was pretty intense and towards the very end of the match, Rick Steiner does a beautiful belly-to-belly suplex on Spivey. Given that Spivey is like 6'9" or 6'10", I was like "wow".

Especially given the regular WWF televised product, the NWA/WCW of the time was a better show to watch. Flair would work his matches, you almost always thought he was about to lose the world title. He had that "begging for mercy" move getting huge reactions from the crowd.

Now I'm starving

I'm about to turn it up a notch!

It always cracked me up when he'd go " He gotta hit by da Halleburden suuitcase" or when the Horsemen would come out " There she is...that debilish Woman".

I think it was Halloween Havok, it was Sting vs Sid and the Horseman come to ringside, Sting goes off to fight them, then Barry Windham dressed as Sting comes in and gets pinned. Sting returned to kick ass and retain the belt.
