I saw it on Access Hollywood. I post on this site all the time, I'm not just your regular anonymous douche bag. I'm not fuckin' around. He starts in March and he said he has Howards blessing. I always thought he was a dick, let's see how he does without Howards help. One thing is for sure, Howard will never have him back.

Great move for John, but how long before they realize that they just used him to get mentions on Stern for bitching about him leaving, especially when they use John for the red carpet interviews, which will just set Stern off like no one's business.

John has been on borrowed time on the show, in my humble observation, since he took the 3 weeks off last year to do the "I'm A Retard Get Me Out Of Here" show.

It was nice knowing him - but not really, since I really didn't know him, and he wasn't really a good addition to the show, outside of the wacky interviews, which everyone does now anyway.

I used to really like his interviews when Stern had the channel 9 show in NY. I met John once when I saw his band play. He was such a dick.

Conan's annoucer is just there to do bits about him having sex with young asian men.

Alan Coulter on Letterman is hysterical - hardly an episode goes by that he isn't involved in some bit. He's only the second announcer Letterman's had in his almost 25 years on the air.

I guess this will blow up John's comedy troupe that always pissed off Stern; now John can ride Jay's coat-tails.

I bet Stern prevents them from using the term "Stuttering John," claiming they own it. I also wouldn't be surprised if Stern shows up on Letterman again soon, and that he never appears on Leno again.

He may made more money for Viacom than some of the other "talent" they have on television, but he's still viewed as radio talent. And while I never agreed with the "I invented everything" 'tude from Stern, you have to admit that over the years his show has been picked over by others "higher up" the entertainment food chain.

Much like John Waters, stuff he was doing and saying years ago that seemed so shocking, is now seen everywhere.

On a side note: Don and Mike returned from their suspension on Tuesday, and they talked about what a wake up call it was; being out without pay; the surreal aspect of their boss, Mel Karmazan, on the floor of congress the next day actually mentioning their names ("He (Don) had a very bad day"); that, with the climate things are in, that there is no one working for the radio division that's not expendible, except (and they mentioned him by name) Howard Stern.

Don and Mike may bring in a lot of money for one station, but Stern brings in a fortune.

Also, as a side not to that side note, Ron and Fez mentioned at the start of their show on Tuesday that they talked w/ D&M, and one of them said something to the effect that they (Ron and Fez) were very close to ending up with the afternoon shift!

Ron said on the air that THAT wouldn't have happened; "We know they're not going to build a station around us!" he said. "We've already been in that situation before."

(Not verbatum - I don't have the transcripts back yet from the lab).

I can't see John as an announcer, but that's me. And his red carpet interviews... does he even do them anymore?

Stern made fun of one of his E! producers for leaving to do Amazing Race, but I think Stern sees the Tonight Show thing for what it is, a huge step forward in John's career and wouldn't hold him back from it.

Good, I'm glad he's gone. He's the only one on that show that I actively hate.

If I'm not mistaken they were suspended for letting the word bullshit go through twice on air, and they also gave out a listener' phone number on the air for which I think they took heat. It's really silly a suspension for the word "bullshit" Not that I care, I hope both fat messes choke on their own bile.

They've also supposedly had some problems with WJFK as of late I think, some dispute over something I could care less about.

The word bullshit went out over the air twice - the thing with the listeners phone number they didn't get into trouble for. It raises the question (which they didn't address, and skirted around it when they talked about it Tuesday) about why the people manning the dump button missed it.

The reason it even came up, according to DCRTV, was that they were talking about Imus using the word and getting away with it.

I'm pretty sure Don and Mike got suspended for sucking.

There's a morning show here in Washingtion with some guy that use to be on in New York ("Elliot"). It's an annoying, braying, obnoxious pile of a show, and they constantly let shit and fuck and asshole over the air.

For whatever reason, Clear Channel (which owns that station, DC-101) lets it slide, unlike Infinity which has been fined a fortune over the years. There are definate disadvantages to being on in Washington.

Part of me wonders if O&A would still be on the air if they weren't broadcast into DC, home of the FCC.

* DC 101, by the way, is the station that first aired Howard Stern back in the 1980s before he went to New York; when he left, the Greaseman took his place, which is the reason for Stern's career long hatred of Greaseman. Grease stayed there for about 10 years, at one time running opposite Don and Mike and Howard Stern here in DC, before being brought in by Infinity (which pissed Stern off more) and put on stations, in the evenings, where he failed. Ron and Fez have that time slot now.

During Super Bowl press week, Wally & the Keeg (no idea if that's proper spelling) let an F-bomb through. They were talking to a random caller when it happened, the guy caught himself & said something like, "Ooops, sorry" and finished his thought. There was an awkward silence for a few seconds, they uncomfortable giggling, then one of them (I don't listen enough to be able to tell them apart) commented that "they'll take care of that back home."

Ooops, no they didn't...but I never heard any outrage over that.

Despite his wacky conspiracy theories, the reason Stern's getting targeted is simply because he's the biggest fish in the pond, and thus his head on a pike means more.

Want to make it seem to Congress that you're doing something to clean up your airwaves? Drop Stern from your stations.

Don and Mike may have been targeted because they're based in D.C., and it doesn't look good to have them saying whatever they want in the seat of U.S. government.
