I saw Bondra interviewed on ESPN this AM on last nights Sportcenter. He started talking about playing for the Senators then he broke down and almost cried. This poor guy spent most of the time in DC and he was also the captain (yes?). You could tell he gave his all to this team. Only one other time have I seen a player get upset by his other team. And that was Messier when he was playing for Vancouver.
Nice jobs on the Caps...I guess we can expect a Stanley Cup from them in the year 2009.

As a Devils fan this trade is very bothersome. Ottawa will become that much more powerful, especially on the power play. Hopefully Lamerillo will use this as a swift kick in the ass to sign Gonchar, time is running out.

A bunch of teams including NJ and Toronto, are interested in Brendan Witt...As well as Gonchar, who says he doesn't want to be part of a rebuilding project...this guy we got from the Wings for Lang is supposed to be pretty good...we know how good the Wings are with picking players...

I'm hearing Mike Griers name being shopped around too....and Micheal Nylander's come back from his leg injury just in time to play himself onto a contender...

Kolzig will goto Colorado. Leonis wants to get him on a Stanley Cup team. Colorado also really needs a solid goaltender, but Aubischer has done well this season. Probability is high on this trade.

Gonchar will be traded. He has expressed his dis-satisfaction with the rebuilding process, and told McPhee he does not want to be a part of it.

Witt will be traded. He also does not want to be a part of the rebuilding process.

Lang was a suprise. I thought they may keep him on terms that he would teach the younger players.

Micheal Nylander depsite missing 3/4 of the season with an injury, is a prospect, barring that the other teams feel he is healthy enough. It would be sad to see him go, as he is a major faceoff presence and assist man. It hurt not having him on the ice this year.

Halpern is not likely to be traded. But if he is, he will only go for a prospect and low draft pick.

Grier is a possible trade, but only if Defensemen are going to be thrown around. He is too valuble to the capitals right now, and was last year, plus him and Anson Carter are two dangerous checking forwards.

Fucking Cassidy, if we didnt get in the hole in October, there would be no need for this.

I was listening to the radio coverage of the Rangers game in the car a little while ago & it was mentioned that Gonchar was held out of his last game allegedly for the flu...but his profile/bio was reported to have been seen posted (accidentally & premature) as part of the Toronto Maple Leafs website for a few hours last night. Could you imagine the embarassment if the deal falls through?
