Kevin Smith was announced today to be writing and directing a Green Hornet movie (http://www.newsaskew.com). Personally, I think this could be very cool.

What the hell happened to this guy?

And what about that Fletch Movie? By the time he makes it, Jason Lee will be older than Chevy Chase was when he made Fletch.

Kevin has Jersey Girl coming out next month. He had 3 films coming (Fletch Won, Ranger Danger, and Clerks Animated), but no one knows what his schedule is now, with the GH announcement.

And I think Jet Li would be the ultimate Kato.

Smith can't do action. He just can't. We'll get a Hornet movie that's 2 hours of "witty" exposition.

Fuck, he'll probably try and cast Jason Lee as the Green Hornet too.

Jet Li as Kato is the only sane choice, though.

I remember in a crossover episode of Batman, the Green Hornet & Kato fight the dynamic duo. Since it was their show, Batman & Robin won the fight. Now I'm the biggest Batman fan you'll find, but there's no way in hell Bruce Lee gets his ass kicked by Burt Ward.

I guess I don't care who plays Kato in the new movie, as long as they figure out a way for him to get Robin in there so Kato can kick his ass. Then they'll be even.

I bet you Kato is a chic in this one.

A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. "Hear that?" you say. "That's dynamite, baby."

You remember wrong. The way it went down was B&R were supposed to win the fight, but Bruce Lee went to the producers and said there's no way he could possibly lose to Robin, so the episode is changed to them fighting and the bad guys run in taking both down, so no one wins the fight.

And the Jersey Girl poster I saw had just Ben and the girl on it.

Third one lasted 2 days in two theaters to meet demand.

Here's another version with a better looking picture of Liv. They should have her in the final poster, she's the main reason I want to see this movie. Liv is HOT, baby! I'd hit that She-Elf!

Both posters are from "ShoWest 2003" but I would have thought it was a bad idea BEFORE Gigli, they were in the middle of the Benifer wave and there was no way people would still like them (Ben and Jen) for that long.

I've read Kev's Superman script, as well as his superhero comics. They all stress talking over action. And the Jon Peters polar bears and thanigarian giant spider don't count towards action scenes.

I remember that story about Braniac having a Giant Mechanical Spider. And then after Superman fighting with polar bears because the villian wasn't around, I can't remember if the villian died or if it was just because he was at the fortress of solitude, alone (being a fortress of SOLITUDE and all!)

The Giant Mecha-Spider ended up in Wild Wild West and was as pointless as it would have been in a Superman movie.

I'm not much of a comic book guy, but I did read the draft of the script that was floating around the internet a while back. I do remember being pretty underwhelmed by it.

You mean that lightsaber fight? or Jay and Bob on a Bicycle fyling past a poster of the new Ben Affleck Movie: "Moon Raper"?

Kevin Smith doesn't like to do action so much, he doesn't even like to movie the camera. He likes static shots, and says so in the DVD comentaries.

Green Hornet is the grandson of the Lone Ranger.

And neither own it. It's owned by the grandson of the original creator. It was created as a radio drama, the comic books and tv show came later.

Rogen to Write and Star in Green Hornet (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=22252)

Seth Rogen (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) is finalizing a deal to write, and likely star in, Columbia's big screen adaptation of The Green Hornet.

Rogen will executive produce, along with co-writer and frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg.

Rogen would play Brit Reid, millionaire publisher-turned-masked crime fighter. "The Green Hornet" started as a radio serial before being turned into a comic book, film and TV series by the 1960s. The TV show was notable for the presence of the late Bruce Lee as sidekick Kato, a kung fu expert with a killer car.
