I think this is a terrible idea. I mean, isnt the whole point of the Royal Rumble is that the winner faces the champ at Wrestlemania? What do you all think?

Of course it sucks. It's just a way for HHH to get out of jobbing.
IF he actually jobs. That's still up in the air.
And if they make this a ladder match, as is rumored, than HBK won't have to job either.

HBK is a fraud. He claims to be a devout Christian but he comes out to "Sexy Boy" and does gyrations and moves that would get thrown out of a porn convention. and uses his and Tripple fags stroke to squash young tallented guys. WWE Is disgraceful right now GO TNA.

Hey Peachy. At the risk of sounding dumb. What do you mean when you say HBK or somone lost their smile?

I'll try to make this short & semi-accurate (if I'm wrong at any point, fellow "smarks," feel free to jump in):
In 1997, Shawn won the heavyweight title from Sid. A few weeks later, he forfeited the title on a Thursday edition of Raw, making his infamously cheesy "I Lost My Smile" speech. Supposedly Shawn was bowing out due to a knee injury; however, it's been widely speculated that Shawn was informed that he was to "return the favor" to Bret Hart and drop the title to him at Wrestlemania 13, which Shawn refused to do.

Unfortunately, I'm not. I think Meltz has been reporting that they're considering making it a ladder match, and he's about the most reliable guy out there when it comes to insider info.
Trips and Fish Boy might as well just lose their smiles simultaneously and hand the belt to Benoit by default.
I always thought that all this religion crap was bullshit on Shawn's part, and his continuing to go over people he shouldn't (without a return job) is only furthering that belief.
BTW, while I think Fish Boy is very amusing, I prefer "Holy Bible Kid" myself. ;p

In retrospect, we can look at this as all HBK's problem. If HBK never broke his back, he never would have had any comeback and would have finished his run in the WWE and never have had to deal with Triple H. If that were the case, Triple H would only now be starting to become a main eventer and we may have actually liked him and respected him. But then again, if you look at it with the Butterfly Effect theory, HBK not breaking his back could have caused major changes in the WWE. Maybe Bret would have not been screwed out of the title. Maybe there would still be a WCW. Maybe Triple H would have never become romantially involved with Stephanie McMahon. Maybe TNA would have never have been created. Who knows? One small change in events could have caused a chain of events leading to either the greatest moments in wrestling or there could have been no wrestling all together.
In any case, Triple H still sucks.

Yep it's a way Triple H can drop the belt and not have to job. I think Benoit is going to be champ. I think they will give him the chance to be the champ and run with it. If he doesnt succeed, I think he will be push down to mid card like Y2J. Talk about a lot of pressure

Oh yeah and the ladder macth, BAD IDEA! Benoit being the #1 contender, that is spoiled. This is all going to wind up being Shawn's miraculous comeback title victory at WMXX and whoop-dee-doo! Benoit will win the title in April in Edmonton at Backlash.
This whole thing is really getting tired and old. Thing had better start changing soon (like combining the RAW and Smackdown rosters again perhaps) or things may get a whole lot worse if it becomes the Kliq Show all over again.
I may have mentioned this before, not sure.
Ok, back to my previous thought. I watched the Monday Night War DVD last week and certain things kept jumping out at me like:
*WCW kept all of it's young talent down because of the Hogan's and Nash's in the back.
Couldn't the Trip's and Shawn's be the older guys holding the younger talent down now? Don't these guys learn that this is clearly not the best for the business?
Also mentioned:
*WWF kept rolling out new names and fresh faces and creating new stars while WCW was still living in the past (I pharaphrased)
I just see this cycle repeating itself because WWE today seems like the WCW of 5 years ago. Aren't the WWE buyrates and house show attendences very comparable to the WCW of 5 years ago? Does a bright fresh upstart like TNA seem like the WWF of 5 years ago that is brewing new talent and creating new stars?
I know this is all pretty common knowledge but it is something I just can't get out of my head.
The other thing:
*The WWF vs. WCW competition brought out the best in everyone involved. It made for a great time in wrestling history. (once again pharaphrased)

Apparently not, if the rumors of HHH wanting to bring Edge over to RAW to feud with him are true.
If that happens, I may have to just give it up. Because unlike Orton, Edge really IS the future of the WWE, and I'll be damned if I'll just sit back and watch him be fed to the Great Destroyer of Careers.

I just read that about Edge last night and it kind of struck anerve with me. I certainly hope that Trip's isn't going to bring in every top stud just to bring them down and squash them. That IS completely ridiculous to think! Isn't it?

Note: *I copied my post from the other thread because it makes more sense to be here than there.*
One thing for me to say then I'll get to my take on things. First if anyone has Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth, I have good news for you. I created an HBK caw which has the tights he wore yesterday against Benoit. With that said I'll start my comment.
Now, out of every wrestling fan on the planet, I am probably the biggest HBK fanatic. I was excited even when he came back as the commisioner, and when I turned 11 on WM14, I was even upset to see him lose to Austin. But, with all considered and seeing where Austin took the federation during his multiple title reigns, I was very pleased that Michaels passed the torch. So what's going on now?
It seems to me, after much reasoning, that the only reason why HBK dropped the title back in '98's because he was forced to. Not only by McMahon, but by his back injury. Otherwise HBK would've possibly retired in 2000 much less '98. Common sense also tells me that HBK only jobbed to Orton because he was promised in advance to be in the main event picture once again. Alot of people thought Michaels had a few more PPVs left in him even with his back injury, and it isn't hard to see that he's trying to prove just that as he's back on the full time active roster. But because he's back on the active roster, we all have a problem. When his back problems kick up once again, how in the world are the WWE gonna retire him? The perfect place for his bowing out was at WM14 where let Austin carry the company, but now he can't do that unless he drops the title to Benoit, which is far from reality since that would leave Triple H out of the main event picture. So now I say to you, as a big HBK fan, HBK and Triple H are to blame for the idiotic triple threat match and 'Mania. Benoit's probably still on cloud nine from the realization that they let him win the Rumble. But even if he does win the Worlds Heavyweight Championship, it won't be the true crowning achievement of his career as his title run won't be too long since Orton will snatch the title prematurely and the fact that he'll only be winning the WCW championship he wasn't allowed to have to many years ago.
I'm disgusted.

If it does and I am sure it will come down to either HBK or Trip's taking the title at WMXX, how much has it got to be for Benoit to just suck it up. I could not even himbeing at the production meetings and KNOWING that he will put on the match of a career and come away with no title. But I also wonder if Benoit inside feels even coming away with nothing, he will know deep down that he has the fans respect and admiration and that's what it is all about anyway.
I think too much.

Why do people keep clamoring for the brands to reunite? All that would mean is twice as much Triple H!!
Remember how BORING it got before the split, with every storyline taking up so much time on both shows? It meant fewer wrestlers, fewer stories, and less new stuff in general. I for one don't want that back- I'll put up with Mark Henry or the FBI so I can see only one night of Trips, and more decent midcard guys.

I had that bad feeling that Michaels would end up in the WM title match. Then on Raw, for a brief moment, I thought HHH and Michaels would have their match Monday or this next Monday, to get that out of the way prior to WM, although I have to agree that, given HHH's character (not the backstage politics, just the tv persona), setting Michaels and Benoit to fight made more sense. It would have been nice if Michaels could job cleanly to someone not part of his clique. Benoit busted his ass in that match and half the time Michaels appeared like he couldn't be bothered to sell that often or that hard.
Maybe it was trying to give Benoit an underdog feel, but even to a mark like me it really didn't help to put Benoit over at all. Now if he had sidestepped or blocked Michaels kick and locked in a submission, that would have been a good end.

I have no desire to see Eddie G, Kurt Angle, John Cena, Edge, or Brock Lesnar become HHH's personal bitch.
Or worse - Orton's job boy.

Who will win the World Title at WMXX?
Right now, the plan remains to have a Chris Benoit vs. Triple H World Title match at Backlash in April. This again shows that Shawn Michaels probably will not win the World Title at WrestleMania XX. The question is, will Chris Benoit or Triple H leave 'Mania with the belt? Most insiders believe that Triple H will retain the title at WMXX before losing it to Benoit in Benoit's hometown of Edmonton at Backlash.
Any my disillusionment with the RAW main event scene continues even further.
Oh well, at least there's that Eddie Guerrero title win to cheer me up.
