Not to complain about things, but I don't understand why my A-Rod topic titled I've already HAD IT with the A-Rod Phenomenon!! (http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/viewmessages.cfm/forum/75/topic/36919/page/I_ve_already_HAD_IT_with_the_A_Rod_Phenomenon__.ht m) was locked. What I was talking about in my thread was not related to the game or anything in the other thread in the Sports forum, but rather about the way the press is hyping the story and using stupid catchphrases to sell this story. If I had posted this within the existing A-Rod thread it would have been more along the lines of derailing it. The A-Rod thread as it exists talks more about sports and the implications of his joining the team and various things about the game.

I was aware of the other thread and decided to keep that topic there from being sidetracked and talk about the press and it's coverage instead in a different topic, which is what I did and it was locked. Just curious as to why? I can understand the initial reasoning for locking it, but if you compare my discussion from the one in the sports forum they are actually different topics. Granted they're related to the same things, but they're different.

I did read the thread before I locked it. This isn't a Yankees board, and yes Mizzle is right, there are four Yankees related threads right now. I was tempted to lock the Maddux and A-Rod threads as well, because all of them should properly be in the "Yankees Off-Season Moves" Thread. I didn't last night because a lot of people wanted to discuss those moves. I may still do it, though.

People were already talking about how much they love/hate the Yankees and love/hate A-Rod and seemingly every other baseball topic under the sun in that first one. It doesn't seem like your post would have "derailed" it at all.

we are all retarTs who cannot handle words on a screen - so we need the hittler police to "lock em down".... and I for one, am behind them all the way.

tips on how NOT 2 get locked:

1- just nod and agree with everyone else..

2- follow the leader

3- after a night of posting here on RonFez.Net,
go over to www.perrynoid.com and listen to
the cosmic circus while you surf the net for
porn and nudie pics of me and your girlfriend!!

then, start threads about how Cameron Grey-
should give the most unique show in fake radio
history - a 1 hour audition on WJFK...

make this board a care taker and not a trouble maker....

Norman Fell's usually cranky and perturbed characters can be spotted in such films as The Graduate (playing the boarding house landlord), If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium and Bullitt. Born in Philadelphia, Fell became interested in show business during high school, and later studied acting at Stella Adler's school in New York, and earned a bachelor's degree in drama from Temple University. During World War II, Fell served as a tail gunner in the Pacific. His best known role was as the prying landlord "Stanley Roper," on the late 70s TV series Three's Company, for which he won a Golden Globe Award as Best Supporting Actor, and was later spun off as the short-lived series The Ropers. Interestingly, Fell was reluctant to star in the spin-off as he felt there was job security in Three's Company's potential eight or nine year run. He only agreed to do The Ropers if he could return if it failed, and his contract was written that if the show only lasted a year he could return to Three's Company. Fell's show business instincts were good, and when The Ropers was canceled after a year and a half, he asked to return to Three's Company. He was turned down because The Ropers had gone on too long.
