anyone seen this? its the story of michael alig, promoter of the limelight through the early to mid 90's. killed his drug dealer hammer, filled him full of drano, chopped up his body and sent it down the hudson.
its was also a book called disco bloodbath.

I saw LOTS of things.

Most of which I care not to repeat or even try to understand.

I worked private security at the Limelight from 90 to 92...I also was a butcher, sanitation engineer and a tour guide on the Hudson!!!

Come On! Some background for the youngin's and those not familiar with manhattan haunts.

The Limelight, most importantly, was a church, first and foremost. SO it could be a wierd vibe. But I never knoew it as a church, only as the Limelight, a club that goes back at least to the 60s because Jean Shepherd used to do WOR live remotes from their.

Anyway, whoever said they were working there 91-92, yeah thats during my tenure their. Didn't go a lot, saw the Chili Peps their, and those unmentionables? You mean the drug rooms, or the blowjob rooms? Wow that place had some sick shit; so many little back spaces and places to get 'lost'.

[Edit: Wasnt the drug and sex stuff busted pretty publicly in the 90s at some point? I remember something about that. And location-wise, it was in the 20s, yes? Shit is it still the Limelight? I'm out of touch.]

i was aware of parties that happened there... but i got into the whole underground dance music scene in like 95-96...which was right when michael killed angel. i have friends that knew them from going to school up there, but didnt think too many other people paid attention to these things.

beides...all my exploits were i the DC baltimore area. we would go up to philly for events at shampoo, and even a party or two at the south jresey expo ctr. twilo was the only place i went to in NY when i was still running around like that.

i still have the tropi-rave flyer and some others from NASA.

I had a heavy "club/rave phase" from 1994-1997 when I was living in Bangkok.

Oddly enough, it was my also my heaviest "drug phase." Go figure.

welcome.... you're in good company. i used to hit the chrystal and the pills pretty hard too.

but then i grew up. i stuck with the music for the most part, but left the drugs behind.


some of the flyers on the wall behind me are about 10 years old.

Gee Whiz, I'm getting old. I went there when it was called the Saint. One of my friends used to do free pub. for them and then we would all get in free. I used to be a bouncer in and around the city before it was homegenized.

I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.
