I went to a party last night that had a DJ and dancing and stuff. I see that at some point, usually near the end, they always play the Electric Slide and the Hokey Pokey and that "quack quack quack" song (not sure of its name) where people form a chain and go around the room. It always seems to be the same songs, and I was wondering, I dont remember hearing those songs played on the radio (even though they do sometimes use the macarana when they start those dances). Does the songs popularity have something to do with why they play them, or are they just a festive beat to them, or is it something else? The Electric Slide in particular seems to get the women up on the floor. Who is responsible for the same dane step I see they all do when its an? I cant describe it, but Im sure you have all seen it.

How bout that other song that goes lke this:
Step to the right.
Step to the left.
now bring it down.
How low can you go.
Clap, clap clap....
Something like that.
Or the Electric slide moves to the song "Achy Breaky Heart".

The goddammed "Cha Cha Slide", or somesuchshit. Probably the most annoying fucking song I've ever heard. The redneck chicks at my usual hangout were on that for about a year. I almost splintered my pool cue off in my ears.
And I can't forget the "team" doing the Electric Slide to "I will survive" in that Keanu movie, "The Replacements", and the renewed popularity in both the song and the dance it stirred up. Suddenly the women expected the guys to get up there and do it too.
that "quack quack quack" song
"The Chicken Dance"?
Was this a "Party" that you went to, or a wedding reception?

"The Electric Slide": one of the reasons I dread going to weddings. That thing always gets played at the reception.

maybe the 'quack quack' song is the Funky Chicken?
then you have the alley cat;
'put your left nut in'
'take your left nut out'
something like that

Ya know thats weird you mention that because the guy who wrote the Hokey Pokey just died. I read about it in the newspaper. They said there was a problem at the funeral home with the body and the coffin because they put his left foot in and well, you know the rest...
Enjoy the meat.

I actually won a Macarena contest at Kings Park day 5 years ago. I like that Cotton Eyed Joe song and the bunny hop. Well, I've also taken swing dancing, line dancing, and ballroom dancing lessons. I'll dance to anything that has a beat.
So, didja do the chicken dance?

I enjoy the Electric Slide and the Cha Cha Slide. It's fun to me. I find that people who don't like it usually have that too cool for the room attitude.
