View Full Version : Paranormal Activity

The UFO thread sorta got me thinkin' about ghosts and stuff. I am extremely fascinated by stuff like that. UFO's, Aliens, Poltergeists, things that cannot be explained by science, unsolved events - all this stuff amazes me. And I've always considered doing something dealing with any of those things as a career. It's a big difference from engineering, but I know I could never get bored with analyzing and investigating any of it.
There have been times when I've thought I've seen ghosts, or seen UFO's, or witnessed some sort of paranormal activity, and I can't get enough of it. I could even have proof that we possibly took a pic with a digital camera of my great grandfather or my grandfather and my grandmother's house a month or two back.
Anyone have any experiences (or possible experiences) with ghosts and stuff like that? And does anyone have any good sites with pictures or videos of ghosts?

On rout 78, exit 32, you get onto cokesbury road. You drive down and you come up to a cemetary that comes out of no where. You turn a little bit and you come up to an old abandoned white church that gives you the chills. If you keep on going and look to your right, you see an old watermill thats not in use. My brother snapped pictures of it on his girlfriends digital camera. Some of the pictures showed one bright orb. Some showed 100's of these orbs floating in space, some brighter then others. Its really creepy and really interesting.

Two great websites for starters:
CSICOP (http://www.csicop.org)
Skeptic (http://www.skeptic.com)
And yes, absolutely, UFOs exist.

I use to be a bigger fan of it than I am now. I grew up watching Star Trek and use to have fantacys about space and aliens and UFO's and stuff. My fascination with science and space stayed with me throughout my education and at some point, I remember this TV movie called "The UFO Experience" about this couple that got abducted. They ended up going to this psychiatrist that unlocked the images that they had seen during the abduction that apparently the aliens had done something to their minds to make them forget it. The movie kind of terrified me as a kid, and it made me think about the whole thing differently, and I began to look into it in a more scientific way, in particular the astronomical way. I learned that there are enormous distances involved in space. The nearest sun is 3 light years away, which means if you could get a ship to go the speed of light, (186,000+ miles a second) it would take 3 years to get there. Once you got there, youd take some time to check it out, then head back- another 3 year journey. So, six years of your life to check out something-- and thats the closest sun to ours. Say one that has an advanced life form on it is 12 light years away, and they "hear" about us by our continuous broadcasts out in space, and they want to come here to check us out. They head out here at the speed of light, and it takes them 12 years. They get here, check us out, grab a few of us and examine us, and then head back home, 12 years later. Seems like a long time to spend, when it would be much cheaper and less risky to simply eaves drop on our broadcasts to learn what we are all about.
I admit that there are some pretty odd things that happen that seem to be along the paranormal lines with respect to ghosts and things like that. We all get that eerie feeling when in the presence of a tomb or cemetary. No one wants to believe that their loved one thats not alive anymore is not in "heaven". I think our mind plays tricks on us, and our imagination is such that we can envision all kinds of things that arent connected to reality and we assign these things to the paranormal because they are outside (para) the "normal". Not to downplay it or anything, but did you ever see a dog "dreaming" and his legs are going and hes twisting around? You know that he is dreaming that he is running around and doing stuff in his dream. I think that a lot of what we experience is just stuff that our imagination cooks up, and we are a particularly visual and imaginitive species. We can think about stuff being more advanced/complicated than ourselves!!

With all the galaxies, and all that distance, and ALL those planets out there...why the fuck are UFO's gonna come here?
Fine, maybe a couple...but anywhere near as many as are supposedly reported? No way.

Art Bell has a great radio show about the paranormal. It's on 770AM @ 3:AM in the morning. A good website for ghost pictures is Ghostweb (http://www.ghostweb.com). There are too many sites on UFOs to list but run a search for UFOs on Kazaa and you'll be amazed at how many videos of the paranormal people are willing to share. I myself have seen both. Digital cameras are the best for capturing ghosts and the like because of their magnetic fields. Ghosts and orbs give off electric charges and d-cameras capture the energy. Worth a look.
