Cartoons are my area of expertise. This show is on every day if you have the Boomerang Channel(Directtv). I used to draw pictured of ZZok( the flying laser shooting dragon) in my notebook all day in grammar school as a kid. There were 2 versions of this toon made, one in the late 70's and again in the 80's. His wife was also way hotter than Wilma.

I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.

Battle of the Planets - Remember when they thought Zoltar was a woman?

Starblazers probably could have been run longer, but it may have ended in a good manner. The initial plot was good suspense (The Earth only has 268 more days..stay tuned for the next episode of Starblazers [someone tell me that Crusade was original?]), and the Comet Empire brought an enemy even worse than the Gamelons. Good stories, great fight scenes...actual deaths in battle (nice to see some consequences to combat and no stinking parachutes).

I liked the episode where they took the recoil off the wave motion gun to escape that trap. I hear you can get Starblazers on DVD, but it's expensive.

Yes, Princess was a hotty! They had a lot of up skirt shots in that show. I remember the Zoltar possibly being a woman thing. Some strange inuendo in thet show when you think about it..lol

And G-Force used the same Japanese cartoon (Science Ninja Force Gatchaman), but was a completely different series with a completely different storyline.

And how could Lucas steal something that was completely different? Mark's father wasn't Zoltar, he was secretly the head of another group of good guys.

You remember very, very wrong. Mark's father was Colonel Cronus of the Red Rangers. He's killed during the series and later on, Zoltar tries to trick Mark by disguising himself as Cronus, but Zoltar is very much not Mark's father.

I use to run home from school at record speed to catch Star Blazers. I recently saw it on DVD in a Virgin Megastore but it was only half of the second season. This thread has re-sparked my interest and I'll have to check it out again. I'd love to have that on DVD.
