It has been a few weeks now and some of us are still sipping our Champagne (you know who you are. Congrats again!).

Others are crying in our beer.

It is that dead time of winter when the simple quenching of the NHL and NBA is not quite enough. College Basketball is my only saving grace for now. Granted some of our (wherever you may be) local sports teams may not be exactly in the hunt for a title, things are just dragging along. As much as I love the winter I can't help but to tend to look ahead just a month and think of what is looming.

The smell is there a bit and the crack is drawing near.

Just a few more weeks.

Be it your Phillies or Red Sox. Mets or Yankees. Cubs or Orioles. A's or whomever else I can't think of who represents any certain boardmember.....

I for one can't WAIT for baseball!

Spring Training is on the horizon and soon pitchers and catchers will be kicking it off.

Soon summer will be here and games will be on almost every night.

The Eagles, well, FAILED! AGAIN! The Sixers are imploding and the Flyers I just can't get excited until at least the second round of the playoffs cause it is the same thing every year. All there is for me until April is the MIGHTY #3 St. Joe's Hawks! GO JOE!I for one (and I hope to get your thought on your respective teams too) am really excited for the Phillies this year.

There is a brand spankin' new ballpark opening and The Vet will be imploded and gone. Just stick the Sixers in there while they're at it. I am hoping for at least the playoffs his year as other fans are having bigger thoughts of grandeur. I am not going that far yet. I do however have my 14-Game Ticket Plan, Tickets to the second game ever at the park (exhibition vs. Cleveland) and tickets for Opening Day. April cannot come soon enough.

I am also looking forward to many Cubs games on WGN and Red Sox games whenever I can catch them. Hell, maybe a Met game or two or three. I also have my Big Ass Trip of Ballparks this summer which will be amazing!

Anyone else feling winter sports pain after football?

Anyone for a hot dog, pretzel and beer?

Take Me Out To The F'n Ballgame!

I don't see the Yanks going all the way this year (hell, I didn't expect them in the Series last year), since they're entering the rebuilding phase, but I'll still be there to root them on.

I couldn't have said it better myself, even though I'm a diehard Pirates fan, I still get excited about the new season. They hurt me so so much every year, yet I still return. At least i have my XBOX.

And don't kid yourself. This is not a rebuilding year for the Yankees, they lost a couple pitchers, but they are still going to win. Not necessarily Series caliber, but they are going to win.

For the lull or do you think the Sox look bleak this year? I think the Sox look strong with the only possible problem being that Terry Franconia will give you a brain hemmorage and possible clubhouse turmoil after all the Ramirez and Nomar drama in the off season.

Teams that have half their lineup have career years always do so well the following year. You know, like the 2003 Angels or the 1994 Phillies. Good luck Red Sox!

There's no way the Yankees are going to make it to the World Series this year. I have a feeling they're going to suck monkey balls. The only positive thing that happened for them is the return of Donnie Baseball!

College Basketball is my only saving grace for now.

Indeed. I only half-heartedly pay attention to the NBA regular season -- especially since my Celts suck.

I'm looking forward to the baseball season and the return of warm weather. I'm NOT looking forward to another Red Sox collapse.

coming from a wnba fan...

and i don't know what to think about the yanks this year. i would have no problem if they were trying to shoot long term by building up the farm system and bringing in sosme young talent, but i have a feeling it's going to be another year of george throwning money on a problem as the solution.
