From PWTorch:
Randy Savage is expected to headline NWA-TNA's planned April 4 Sunday night three-hour PPV . Sources say TNA has reached agreement with Savage to face Jeff Jarrett in the headline match of TNA's biggest PPV to date.
Savage has not been active in wrestling for several years since his departure from WCW during the Monday Night Wars. In essence, the payoff that had been budgeted for Hulk Hogan when the "Bound for Glory" PPV was originally scheduled for November last year has been shifted to Savage.
No official announcement has been made by TNA, so there is no official confirmation yet that the deal is sealed. After what happened with the Hulk Hogan situation, TNA doesn't want to announce anything until all paperwork is finalized and they are ready to make everything public.
Didn't they learn their lesson with the Hogan fiasco? It's bad enough that Jarrett is the champion of this company. But to not have AJ Styles or Raven work the first PPV main event is a travesty. In my opinion, TNA will not last another year if they continue to rely on old names in main events. What do you think/know Joey?

They are still fumbling around with ideas and that has been mentioned.
One of the insiders that I have spoken to about the event said that many people want to see Savage in the event because he is a name but should not be in the main event. I concur.
Raven vs. AJ for the NWA World Title has been mentioned to me meaning that either Raven or AJ will be champion in the coming weeks. Jarrett vs. Savage as an undercard main event would suit me just fine. An X-Division Ladder Match, Red returning and UltimateX3 have been told to me but it has not been finalized. Dutch and Russo are still working out the kinks. They have only been working with each other for a few weeks now.
So who knows and there are other things that are going to make for an interesting BFG but you will all have to stay tuned for that.

Randy, no! I'd rather remember you the last time I saw you in the ring: getting your ass kicked by Tobey Maguire. ;p
And you just know he'd use his (c)rap CD for entrance music...

The last thing I want to see TNA depend on is legends. Now you have to admit, they have big names, and these guys have been legends in the business, but they just don't have the same appeal they did. There's a new wave of wrestlers out there, which TNA has greatly showcased. Then there are the ones who are finally getting a second chance at the spotlight and being used to their potential. I say out with the old, in with the new and the ones who didn't get a fair chance.

I just read that Chyna's going to start work for the company.
Mark, I'm sorry, but all of these EXTREMELY poor hiring decisions (coupled with Dutch Mantel's booking) has me a heartbeat away from abandoning TNA for a while. Until things change, at least.

Isn't that a lil too close to "Chyna" for the WWE's lawyers' tastes? And guess what one major legal tussle against a large corp. can do to a small fed.

Wasn't she wrestling in Japan as Joanie already? And in the wrestling world, isn't she well-enough-known not to need any reference to her past? If she feels she needs the extra drawing power of name recognition, just go as "C-Pac"...but trust us, Joanie, you already have jutting jaw recognition and no one who watches wrestling will be confused as to who you are when you show up.

TNA is starting to ake the same bad decisions that WCW made after a certin Writter Joined. (Vince Russo) i wonder who that writter could be? Whats next The Millionares Club VS the New Blood?.

Ironically, though, Vince Russo is arguably the best booker they had.
Don't get me wrong - when Russo sucks, he REALLY sucks, but when he hits it's entertaining. And he has a habit of taking younger guys or guys with nothing going on for them and giving them programs (ex. Killings title run, S.E.X., etc.). It doesn't always work, but frankly, Dutch Mantel is NOT the better alternative.
There is some good news for TNA - I've heard that they're pulling in something like 2,000 (at least) people each week, per show, which is quite respectable for a smaller promotion. Hell, if you look at the recent WWE house show gates, Vince & co. is at times struggling to even get that number.

You need some recognition. You gotta admit that... although Jarrett, Raven, D-Lo, Dustin, 3LK, Simon and Swinger, Sandman are known already.

How many of those are comped?

Indeed, Mark is probably spot on. The comps have diminished. The shows are not heavily papered anymore.
