the hockey season doesn't start till the playoffs. the regular season is just filler. it would be nice to get into but when they play 1 night have off for 3 then play 2 then off 4 you never know when the hell they're playing.

I liked the World vs. North America, but it got old and too many good players weren't making it. West vs. East is better now.

Over-rated? Hardly. He's gonna break the league shutout record this season. Marty is the best in the NHL.

Dude, he only gets a crap load of shutouts is because of the defense in front of him. Other goalies cant match up to him cause they have crapass defensemen.

First of all, I like East vs. West so much better, that's the way it should be. Secondly, there's no chance whatsoever Marty is over-rated. That man has proven his worth time and time again, most noteably with 3 Cups. He has easily solidified himself as one of the greatest NHL goalies of all time, if not THE greatest.

I think I like watching the Skills Competition more. If only there was a competition having to do with the physical aspect of the game.

East vs. West = better. Allows you to cheer more for specific teams.

And who would YOU say is the best goaltender in hockey? Hasek? Only if he gets a groin transplant.
Broduer had proven time and time again he is the best goaltender in hockey and even the GM.s agree. I have personally spoken to the GM and now President of the Carolina Hurricanes Jim Rutherford and he said point blank that Broduer is the best goaltender in the NHL and ANY GM would give what they could to get him.
Sorry but this whole if-the-Devils-were-not-such-a-defensive-team excuse does not even qualify anymore. Marty has been facing 20-30 shots a game more this season then he has in previous ones. and he STILL has 10 shutouts. Who is the next closest...5? MAYBE 6?

Oh yes...and for the topic at hand...I think it SHOULD be East vs. West. Does Baseball play the Japanese/Hispanic vs. the USA? Of course not.

And the season is damn exciting to watch...a few records have been set so far. (Shutout games) and Yzerman and Hull AND Messier moving up in the scoring.
Hey now that football is over let's PLAY SOME HOCKEY BABY!
