I know there is a huge hatred and loathesome disgust for all things Philadelphia on here but here goes anyway.

Since we will never win a sports Championship (so it seems) 12 years ago 2 guys from the local sports station down here, sister station to 66 The Fan, 610 WIP has been sponsoring Wing Bowl.

Pretty much in a nutshell it is a huge mammoth event with the Main Event being a Chicken Wing eating contest.

24,000 people attended the one this year and it went into a thrilling overtime event.

Sonya Thomas (http://www.ifoce.com/profile.php?action=detail&sn=20) was the winner his year beating out many other huge eaters. To say the least it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

I'm hot for any chick who can eat 68 eggs in six minutes. She's Cool Hand Lucy.

She lives in Alexandria, and I talked Ron and WB about her last night. I think they're going to try and book her.

Yesterday's Washington Post story about her (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A48-2004Jan30.html)

How's that interview going to go?

"So you ate 68 eggs in six minutes, eh?"

"Yep, I sure did."

I would have really have loved to have gone this year but all my friends were working. There was such an outcry about letting in outsiders cause this is such a hometown event but it would only make things better. By far the most exciting Wing Bowl we ever had up here and everyone cheered and loved Sonya as our own. She was even out and about afterwards STILL eating.

If she is on with R & F I definitely have to come down and hear that one. That would be sweet.

How'd you like to take her to dinner? It's be like the guy in "Diner" who ordered the left side of the menu!

That, my friend, is a woman that I could fall in love with.

Hey wait a minute. That chick was on Jimmy Kimmel's how last week. It's almost like they knew she was going to win.

I say the fix was in from the get-go.

There was an article in Maxim about competitive eating 2 months ago. Interesting shit, but disgusting at the same time.

And shouldn't the wing bowl be in buffalo?I got nothing against philly, but they have their cheesesteaks and buffalo's anchor bar owns the wings.

A guy I grew up with was on that food-eating contest show that aired on Fox or FX a couple of years ago. He was ahead of his time: I remember when we were in 6th grade we'd challenge him to eat multiple lunches.

The whole idea for Wing Bowl came about when Angelo and Al from WIP were contemplating something becasue our teams just (and still do) stink. We never win anything. Buffalo was hot a the time with their Super Bowls so yes, we blatantly ripped off the Buffalo Wing idea and ran with it.
