So, after surfing the web on Sunday night, I awoke on saturday ngith, I awoke sunday to turn on my computer and find that windows wouldn't let me on. It said something about an error and that to protect my computer it wouldn't start up. Well finally, I had to reboot the whole damn thing. When I say reboot, I don't mean restart it. I had to get the restore cd out from all the information about the computer and windows(it was all useless) and I had to start it all over again. I lost everything that was on my computer! There was nothing really important on there, but there was stuff that meant a lot to me, ex: pic of me and montel williams, assorted things I had written, ect...

Funny how I hate technology and yet I'm using a message board on the internet. But it will, cause the downfall of society as we know it!

Do you have Windows XP? A similar thing happened to me a few months ago. I had to take it to someone. He saved all my files and then basically had to "rebuild" all over again. Turns out there was a "glitch" with Windows XP when it first came out. They have since come out with a patch for it. I guess I was pretty lucky-- I had the computer a year and a half before anything went wrong.

At what point did you encounter this error during start-up? Maybe starting in Safe Mode could've saved you this trouble.
