I only ask because today they seem to be reading news that they could have gleamed from yesterday - and they even made a big deal about NOT talking Oscars, until tonight when Paul O is on.
BTW - love the NEW "Purina" commercial! I hope Fez brings Fuzz to the game! HA!

I was wondering about that. He said someone was left out? Ian McKellan?

Can't be McKellan.
Ron hates those flicks.

It just is funny that there was no talk about today's weather (or lack of weather) and all the additional ice and frozen roads hype we had to suffer through this AM, and then no story about Al Franken getting mid-evil on someone's ass at a rally last night - a story that made Stern and O'Whiney's shows!
Hey...not blaming no one! If they were able to use the Larry Michael hour last night to kick one out today, good for them! As much as I love both shows, I know it sucks to have to continue to jump through hoops - they have proved themselves already, dammit.
(I think the acting award Ron was talking about was himself and his performance at being disgusted HA! Maybe he'll say Russell Crowe or Tom Cruise?! HAHA!)
I'm looking forward to see what they really say about this tonight - with the exception of Johnny Depp and Diane Keaton and (of course) LOTR, there were few really big mass appeal films nominated, which was Ron's whole slam against the Oscars last night (which, of course, was opposite of what Howard said this morning! - how he hates the Oscars because they aren't mass appeal enough!)

They usually do the FHIR at 11am but they occasionally tape it the night before when they have something else to do.

Well, the weather today wasn't as bad as they were calling for last night - still, driving is gross out there.

Ron told me personally he doesn't like them when we went in for Two Towers.

I think he was refering to Sean Penn not being nominated for Mystic River because he didn't show up to get his golden globe.

I guess we have our answer now. They are probably sleeping right now while Fez gets his haircut "live" at 11:00 am this morning.
I have no problem with this. Why does a radio show have to be live anyway (If they don't take phone calls)

the odd thing is that tonite's replay is over a day old, for some reason it bothers me .... it's a quirky sense of comfort to listen to a live broadcast ....
why not have a four hour show that incorporates an hour long segement for the news and replay that the next day .... rather than having two hours a day of taped (re)broadcast ....

What's funny is I stopped by JFK to pick up my tickets to the Caps game at about 10:50, or so...the woman at the desk asked if R&F were live today, and the guy walking by shook his head.
Like I said - I don't blame them. They don't do the "swooooosh" as much when they tape it the night before as they do when it's live. I think admitting that Fred the Hair Genius was in there working on Fez was a tip of the hat that they are not live this morning.
* BTW, I LOVE (!) those purina spots! They seem new every day! Man, they are cracking me up.
* I also love how Fez needs to mention Leiberman everday during the fastest hour. His "impression" cracks me up; when I tell people about it, all I have to do is mention that he does Droopy Dog when he's talking as "Joe" and they crack up.
* Last night's show, with Perry and Fred, was terrific. They can never over play Perry's Fred song, in my book. That should have been played coming in and going out of every spot.
* Perry is comedy gold! Finally, Cameron Gray is right about something! Perrynoid and Crazy Jen show!
ONE OF THESE DAYS...they will get burned doing the show taped delayed the night before! Some huge story will hit right after the 11am hour, and they will have to scramble.
On a side note, when I was at the station, I found it funny that everyone there calls Wonder Boy "Wonder Boy." When I asked for him by his real name I got a funny look; it wasn't until I asked for "Wonder Boy" did she register anything.
"Have you seen Wonder Boy?" she asked someone (Greg Edger) coming in.
"Wonder Boy? No, but I think he's here."
"Wonder Boy," she then said on the PA system. "Please come up to the front desk." Then she shook her head and said, "That Wonder Boy."
It was like my own private radio show! HA!
Sweet!

Last time I went to the studio the janitor found me waiting in the lobby and he asked if he should tell them I was here. When I told him I was Bonedaddy he smiled knowingly and said, "Oh, you're Bonedaddy? Come on in!" That was odd. I should have checked to see if someone had written something about me on the men's room wall.

They are usually live (and more than likely always live on Mondays) - they only tape it when they have things to do the next day.

Well...call it a hunch, but I think that today's Fastest Hour was taped in advance.
heh-heh
:eg:
Pretty good best of, actually, especially since I think they used all DC material.

I wish they would repeat material from when they were on in NYC. I started listening to them at least 2 years ago when they were broadcast in DC after the "sports junkies" show (I worked at nights then and loved the fact I found a real good show on that late)

Agreed! And before someone posts something they find out about the show, perhaps think if R+F might not want it going out; or if it's anyone else's business.

Ahhhh...Mikeyboy! I can always count on you to catch a joke! ANd look! It only took someone a week to finally getting around to calling me by that new and improved name!
By the way, I finally saw a transcript from last week's WB trash talk show (I sent $5.00 in a postage paid envelope and it showed up the next day), and it wasn't Wonderboy who called me "Nosey," it was actually FEZ!
Here's the transcript:
Ron: KOP?
((six second pause - longer than anyone else got, as WB thought about it...including Sid, New Rory and you, Mikeyboy, who all got about 3 seconds))
Wonderboy: Unn He's uhm, "cough", he's like uncomfortablely interested in things, Like he wants to know too much stuff. Always trying to be the behind the scenes guy.
Fez: What are you saying Nosey?
((Goes into Mike The Teacher, then.....))
Fez: I think you are wrong on all those.
Ah-ha!
Not sure what that proves. Will have dig around behind the scenes some more and become uncomfortably interested. And what are the too many things I want to know? I think I asked a total of three questions to the guys off the air the only time I was in, and one of them was if Ron had ever seen the movie "Wattstax."
Anyway, since Ron wants me to become the character that is convinced that the middays are always taped the day before, I will play along (like I attempted to do earlier today with my post) and go out on another limb and boldly say that they did NOT tape tomorrow's show tonight.
Time to go nail this thesis to the WJFK door,
