question about Data cables

EIDT: DO I need the software that comes with the cable or can I buy just the cable, and use pre-existing software IE any image software that enables you to edit pictures

dont you need software to upload whatever data , like images from your phone to your PC or visa versa? Why buy the software that costs X amount when you pretty much allready have it right?

you need data transfer software to move stuff from phone to pc. that should come with the cables. otherwise, read howardforums.com, but they get real technical there.
