My iTrip stopped working...

Back in November I got an iTrip which is a FM transmitter for my iPod, it worked perfectly. I previously had the FM transmitter from Belkin but the signal wasn't all that great and it's batteries would die frequently. So I decided to get the iTrip, it was far better with reception and never needed batteries. About a week ago it stopped transmitting and I don't know why. It lights up, and I can hear it through the speakers for about a second and then it cuts out.

I thought maybe my antenna got screwed up or something until this morning when I took my old belkin transmitter and tried it in my car, it worked. I just left a message for Griffon Technology who makes the iTrip, there's no reason it should stop working after so little time, I take very good care of it.

I bought it directly from Griffon, not at the apple store. I ordered it in advance of it being released.

ndugu, no, this is to play your ipod on a radio. there is a seperate device to receive fm stations on your ipod.

I'm a true decepticon, I went to the Apple store at lunch and bought a new iTrip, I did this completely with the intent of returning it later with the bad iTrip inside. More than anything I was just curious if a new one would work in the car and sure enough it did. When I got back to my office I took the old one and put it in the box and returned it after work. I told them I couldn't get it to work at all, they were very helpful in trying to figure out why it wouldn't work but ultimately gave me my money back. I did notice some new iPod accessories such as iPod holders for the car, I'll look closer at them on Saturday.

I just got an itrip. I cant figure out how it works and I cant find the instructions. Can anyone explain it ?

Here's an FAQ (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itrip/faq.php) on the iTrip, it's pretty easy to use, you need to set your stereo the preset station. If the signal doesn't work you can change station to another. You need to install the software in able to do that.

I did, they tried to pull the 10% restocking fee on me so I gave them some grief and they gave me all my money back. I am a true decepticon.

how is the quality on your fm transmitter? my neuros has it, but the quality is as good as fm with a lil background noise. sometimes i wish there was an tape deck adapter.

The reception is excellent with the iTrip. It' far better than the one from Belkin. I did notice as the battery would get low on the iPod that the quality of the reception would drop off, but I fixed that problem by getting a car charger for it.
