Homer: I'd like a monkey, please! And...maybe one of those dogs, what do
they do?
Man: Uh, they serve as seeing-eyes for the blind, sir.
Homer: Do they do any other tricks?
Man: No.
Homer: Just the monkey, then.
Man: Eh, may I inquire as to how you are...differently abled?
Homer: Oh, I'm not handicapped! I'm just lazy!
-- "Girly Edition"
% The man tells Homer he can only get one if he's physically challenged.
% Later, Homer leads Abe and a new helper monkey out of the store.
Abe: Oh, son! This monkey's gonna change my life!
Homer: Mind if I take him for a ride?
Abe: Sure, I'll just stand here!
[Homer speeds off.]
Mmm, I can't wait to eat that monkey!

Best post by far has been Borne to Loose
You can't imagine so many monkeys in the daily mail
All of them coming anonymously so they leave no trail
I never thought I'd have an admirer from overseas
But someone is sending me stationary filled with chimpanzees.
Some chimps in swimsuits, some chimps are swinging from a vine
Some chimps in jackboots, some chimps that wish they could be mine.
Starsky and Hutch chimps, a chimp who's sitting on the can
A pair of Dutch chimps who send their love from Amsterdam.
Another postcard with chimpanzees
And every one is addressed to me.
If I had to guess, I'd say the monkey-sender thinks it's great
He's sending me, maybe she's sending me just to see me get irate
I'm losing sleep - and it's gonna be keeping me up all night
I thought it was funny, but now I've got money on a monkey fight.
Some chimps in hard hats, chimps a-working on a chain gang
Some chimps who love cats, burning rubber in a Mustang
A birthday-wishing chimp, a chimp in black like a goth
A goin' fishin' chimp, a British chimp in the bath.
Another postcard with chimpanzees
And every one is addressed to me.
Somehow they followed me even though I packed and moved my home
No matter what, they come and they come they won't leave me alone
Another monkey in the mail could make me lose my mind
But look at me shuffling through the stack until I finally find
Some chimps in swimsuits
Some chimps in Jackboots
Some chimps in hard hats
Some chimps who love cats
I've got some shaved chimps; that's chimps devoid of any hair
I've got depraved chimps dressed up in women's underwear.
Another postcard with chimpanzees
And every one is addressed to me.
Every one is every one is every one is addressed to me.
Another postcard with chimpanzees
And every one is addressed to me.

I like Ron's idea of naming years after American animals. This year should be the year of the Jackalope, next year can be the Sasquatch. Maybe after that could the be year of my hometown creature the Snallygaster.
(this would have made such a better x-files than the one that was actually set in Braddock Heights. Also kicks the ass of the stupid old Blair Witch, set five miles down the pike in Burkitsville)

My dad worked on the remodelling of the Orang utan exhibit at the national zoo about 10 years ago. He had some really cool stories. The neat thing about the exhibit is that it was two seaparate areas that were connected by wires that went overhead. The Orang utans were smart enough to know they could not jump down from the height, so all the had to do was build poles that the Orang utans could not get down and the rest of the connections could be open directly above the people below. Of course the Orang utans do sit up top of the poles and throw their poo at the people walking underneath.
The O line
He also had a sort of joke about the about the differneces between monkeys that the zookeepers told. If you dropped a screwdriver in the cage of gorilla he would pick it up. Stick it in his mouth. Stick in various parts of his cage. And then discard it. If you dropped it in the chimpanzee's cage, he would pick it up and realize the object was valuable. Only trading it for a banana or something else of value to the monkey. If you dropped the screwdriver in the Orang utan's cage, before you know it, the cage would be dissasembled and the Orang utan would be on a flight to Cleveland.
(This was told to me quite a while ago, so I may have messed up a detail or two)
