How in the hell is the Farmers Almanac as accurate as it is. Now I know it's not 100% but still i just purchased one and looked back st this past fall and its pretty accurate. Must be Sorcery or the work of some worlocks .

It has been shown to be more accurite then most weather prognosticators, and it is rooted in the theory that the past is the key to the present. It takes measurments from many previous years at certain loactions and correlates them whenever unsettling weather happened and it uses that data to predict what is a good probability of what likely to happen now. It has made some collosal blunders as well. Your better off here. (http://weather.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/iwszone?Sites=:nyz081) if you want the best weather for our area (LI).

Dude, are you a pilot? Only pilots, meteorologists & geeks have NOAA bookmarked.

Hey! I worked for NOAA!!

No offense, Mike. Aviation wouldn't be what it is today if it weren't for the NOAA.

I wanted to see if SR was a flyboy or just an airplane enthusiast.

I saw a thing on the History Channel yesterday on Nostradamus and how he created the first farmer's almanac. It was very interesting, and it's amazing how accurate those things are.

What I don't get though, is why stores sell almanacs from previous years. Once in a while I'll see it on shelves and I don't know why anyone would get an old one.

If only the farmers didn't spend so much time with their alamanacs, they might be able to reign in their daughters...
