go into your IE Tools / Options / and the Advanced Tab and under Security see if this is checked:

Empty Temporary Internet Files When Browser Is Closed

if so, uncheck it!

i'm not too confident this is "history" related as opposed to just being "temp file" related...

i'll keep checking

Within IE if you use the HELP option and search for "clear history" it gives you some information. I looked at it but couldn't figure out how to prevent 'automatic clearing'...

check it out, maybe you'll have better luck!

if you go to Tools and Internet Options under the General tab, how many days do you have selected for your "Clear History"?

yeah, me too!

oh well! i searched around on the net a bit looking for "IE clear history problem" and read some things but nothing conclusive. I read something where Java can takeover some of the browser functionality. Maybe that's it? not sure. I'm sure someone from the board will know what to do!

Good Luck!

thanks Funk

if this helps anyone...i now have a few lines of history in my current window...when i go to File/New/Window and get a second window open...that one has no history on it. in the past the history would carry over.
