I guess i am more of a traditionalist when it comes to this topic, but arenas and stadiums should be either named after people or the team. It seems that all these new sports arenas and stadiums have corporate names. The new ballpark in sandiego is named Petco Park named after the huge pet store chain. Other legendary places like boston gardens have been renamed to the Fleet Center, cominskey park is now US Cellular Field just to name a few. Imagine if yankee stadium was renamed and you would have to hear, hey its a lovely day for a ballgame at Verizon Stadium

Bank of America bought Fleet. I think they're changing the name this year.
I do like Bank One Ballpark, only because it's my name (BOB).

I still think of the DEVILS & NETS arena as the Brendan Bryne Arena.

Now renamed the Wachovia Center. We call it the Wack.

Last I checked didn't the old Comiskey and the Garden close and have since been torn down? The Fleet Center and US Cellular are new facilities.
Personally the idea of the naming of new stadiums with corporations sickens me. The more I think about it the moire I like the idea how the Bears wouldn't rename Soldier Field due to the Soldiers it was named in mempory of and instead the Bears are now sponsored by Bank One I think it is.
I still draw you know. (http://www.pleaseforgetme.com/SIGS/EaglesPanthers.jpg)

this is one of the reasons i love Yankee Stadium. None of that crap about corporations, the name is plain and simple.

it's unavoidable. the secret now is for the fans to give the stadium nicknames and ignore the corporate name. For example, The LA Galaxy just opened a new stadium called the Home Depot Center (HDC) but the fans only refer to it as Victoria Street.

Ah, but my favorite team's field is also the ORIGINAL "corporation field"...
Could the Cubs REALLY play anywhere besides WRIGLEY Field? I think not.
Actually, come to think of it, they can't really play there, either...

There's a Pepsi Arena in Albany, NY where the Devils' AHL affiliate, the Albany River Rats, play. The fans often refer to that arena as The Can.
And like WRESTLINGFAN said, the Colorado Avalanche play at the Pepsi Center in Denver.
