Devis vs. Rangers vs. Islanders....it's ALL good!

Ok...well I have to admit...all 3 teams are playing great hockey at the mid-point in the season.
Rangers are doing well and right now would make the playoffs. The Islanders injury-riddled team are right below them and have surged well in the past.
And the Devils...well they are slumping right now but better now then in May & June. (And they are still 2nd in the Atlantic...damn Flyers!)
We should all be pleased at how well our teams are doing.
Some great hockey is being played right now....better then I can remember for being at the mid-point.
Having said that...now my loyalty comes out...
Let's Go Devils!!! Time to drink up from the cup.

I almost forgot...if you watched the game last night you missed an INCRDIBLE goal by Rasmussen in the second period. He took a pass behind him...passed the pcuk back to himself BETWEEN HIS LEGS and then took the deek to score!
I have to say it will go into the top 10 goals of the season...if not for the NHL then definately for the Devils.

On a lighter note...I just found out that one of the reps. who come into our office is an ex-NHLer. He only played one season in the NHL for St. Louis, but still. REALLY nice guy...and to even play for one season (80-81) for the big boys is pretty impressive.

OK, it's time for me to weigh in. I've watched a few Rangers and Islanders games this season and watched/listened to every Devils game. Right now all three teams are playing ok. Last night's Islanders game was typical, they jumped all over Ottawa early and dominated, only to blow a huge 4-0 lead and end in a tie. The Devils played the Rangers last night and it was a great game to watch, both teams flew all night. Although, it's great as a Devils fan to know the Rangers haven't beaten you since 2001 and only once since 1997. Anyway, the game was good but Messier beat the Devils in the final two minutes with a great feed to Barnaby and earned the Rangers a tie. The Devils will come out of their slump, it's just a matter of time. I think it will be when Stevens comes back and wears that 'C' again in 7-10 days. They are lucky right now that Philly is slumping too or else they could find themselves way behind in their division. I think in the end all three will make the playoffs but only the Devils will do something in the postseason cause they're gonna repeat as champions.

But all insults aside...I know all of our teams can do BETTER, but let's face it...considering how one team usually is the better one and the other two sit and stew in the basement, I think we should all be happy about the play of all 3 teams in the NY area. The Rangers and the Islanders might BOTH make the playoffs with the Devils. I am just saying how exciting it would be with all 3 teams making the post-season. I do not think that had ever happened since the Devils came here from Colorado in 83. (bonus points for remembering the name of the team in CO before they were the Devils)

Amen Wadd...that fucking cheap shot artist...he had the BALLS to cry on the news about "What kind of man will my children think I am?" when he got suspended for that elbow to Neidermayers head in the playoffs a few years ago.
Cry all you want jerk-wadd (no offense to you Wadd). I say it should be open season on this Jerk.
But he did give me one of the funniest moments on TV during a game.
Ulf Sameullson was standing right behind him during a game in Toronto, and Dom i dropped his right glove and just swung over his shoulder and clocked Ulf RIGHT in the jaw! Knocked him right on the ice and his head smacked the ice knocking him out. Of course Domi was suspended and ejected from the game. But since both were just plain assholes on the ice I could NOT stop laughing. The whole think was caught on tape. I wish I had it. I would plkay it over and over.
