View Full Version : Who here cooks dinner?

After reading Furtherman's post about cooking his girlfriend dinner I was wondering: How many board members who are male cook for someone they are either in a serious reltionship with or married to. And on a regular basis. I am not talking about "I cooked dinner for our anniversary" or something like that. Ladies, if you boyfriend/husband does this let me know please. I moved in with my girlfriend in July, and I have cooked dinner everynight. Some nights, we eat something easy like Pasta, and I have the homemade sauce from my mom and I just heat that up. Other nights I try harder stuff. Either way, I cook and she doesn't. I will admit that I do like to cook and do not mind it at all, but one night it would be nice to come home to a nice warm dinner all ready to go. Anyone else in this situation?

we cook most meals at the same time. my wife won't let me cook by myself...and i don't blame her. so she kind of gives me the simple things to do.

When I lived with my ex, I was very broke at the time, so he was paying most of the rent, and in exchange, I did the cooking, cleaning, and laundry

I can cook, but I choose not to. It's just as easy to pick up the phone. :) And if I don't order out, I make pasta or heat up some soup.

skidmark is the cook in this relationship. He makes some yummy meals. If I see a recipe that I like, he'll make it for me.

He rocks like that.

I cook most of the time, usually for myself. Mother doesn't cook much at home.

I've cooked before, but only meals for my family. And both times, it was fried chicken.

my 2 favorite dishes to make are veal marsala and penne a la vodka with grilled chicken. i usually check a couple different sites for any recipes i haven't tried before, and pick and choose btween ingredients used by other people and their methods of preparation. typically i'll have in the back of my mind how it tasted (when i ate out or whatever) and try to replicate it.

i'm thinking about taking up wine making/ brewing this summer. my buddy has been doing it for years and said he'd help me out. check for monsterone's cafe in 2006

I'll usually cook either chicken or fish. Can't quite master steak too good, always just go a little too far.

Ditto for my wife and I. I LOVE to cook, but I wrecks me a kitchen in the process, so I feel that I am getting the better end of the deal. :)

i'm not much of a cook. adf is in charge of the cooking when we don't go out for dinner. i always offer to help, but i generally end up in front of the tv while dinner is prepared.

I cook from time to time. I got some recipes from my parents (my mom's chicken in wine and my dad's chili), plus some other stuff I've found on the internet. I prefer simpler things because I get home around 7pm, but on the weekends, I can do the heavier stuff.

Gotta get my dad's sauce recipe soon, though, I've been trying to duplicate it, but there's nothing like having the actual recipe.

I cook most nights for myself. I don't mind it, plus while I am waiting for something to cook or boil, I'll make my lunch for the next day. This saves me a lot of money during the week.

I have.
