No more free air

In my neigborhood there was only one gas station with free air left. It was a little out of my way, but I think it's ridiculous to pay $.50 for air.

So I go to fill up my right-front tire today and guess what? They replaced the free air machine with a pay machine. $.50 for friggin air.

My back tires got a slow leak in it. Every time I go to fill it up I end up using all my change.I never have quarters for the meters. Why pay for air, it should be free.

you could buy a compressor but hopefully you'll have other uses for it. i picked one up 2 years ago but have only blew out my sprinkler system.

I think driving as far away as I was for free air was excessive. But it was a matter of principle. Now I'll have to drive to NJ if I get a flat.

I saw that. There's really no problem with it. They're compressing the air for you and conviently suplying it for you. Now if they have a $10 bike pump sitting out there, they should be paying you to use it, but there isnt one.

FREE AIR UPDATE

I found a gas station that still has free air not too far away. It's the Shell station on Williamsbridge and Lydig.

So if you're anywhere in the eastern half of The Bronx and your tires are low head on down. Tell them Matty sent ya.
