Have any of you ever done this before ?
There was a beer that I had when I was up in New Hampshire last year and I couldn't find it any where down here so I went to the breweries website. They had it available online but the prices were outrageous. They wanted something like $20 for a 12 pack, not counting shipping. Well when I went back they had a note posted saying that they had given up shipping the beers because the prices became too steep and I guess there wasn't enough of a demand. I'm assuming there must be some kind of tax on it if its shipped across state lines or something. I might have to have the Bandit smuggle it for me although I don't know if he'd do it in that Trans Am anymore because his toupe might fly off.

There must have been so ability to do it at some time. This site I just recently looked at must've stopped within the last few weeks because I almost bought some back in December.
My g/f used to go to school up in NH and one time ( this was back like in 2001 ) I was surfing the net to find things to do up where she was and I came across a place called Case N' Keg (http://www.case-n-keg.com/). At the time they were offering all kinds of microbrews for sale through mail order. A lot of regional stuff that I remembered from Louisiana and all. Well I made plans to go by it thinking it would be a beer paradise. Boy was I wrong. It was a convenience store, smaller than a 7-11, that must have placed orders from a warehouse. I asked the guy behind the counter and he acted like i was from the moon. I was like dude you guys have a website, why else would I come to this dump. It still didnt phase him. Next time I went back online they had nothing. Only things they had for sale, just like they do now, was corny ass trinkets.

I have balls !!!

I've ordered mead over the internet. It depends how they choose to pack and ship the alcohol that affects the shipping price.

for the record, a store must have a physical presence in the state in which they are shipping the alcohol. My former employer sold wine through the mail as one of their things. We had to use specific distributors in specific areas to ship to certain states.

Plus I plan to order Absinth as well.

If you can get real absinthe that contains wormwood, such as Hills Absinthe, would you mind telling me where i can get some. i would be very appreciative. i've wanted some for a long time now, and the stuff they sell in the US doesn't have the wormwood in it, and the closest thing i found was a way to make it at home, but thats just too much work.

The only connection the brewery, which was in Maine, had to NY was, that a few stores in Long Island carried some of their products.
They would have shipped it to me in NY if I was willing to pay the price.

Here's the post they have in their " Gift Shop " :

There was an article about ording Absinthe online from Europe in a recent issue of Maxim. I'll check if the article is online for you.

The two Djs whose name I dare not mention here got a hold of some and Buzz was drinking some on the air a couple of weeks ago.

Do they ship to the US? If so, must cost a fuckload more for the shipping than the beer

so i picked up a bottle of absente tonight. to give it a comparison, it's like being a beer drinker an drinking a bottle of wine. it's a different, more mellow drunk.

now, this stuff if legal in the us, because the parts per million is under 10 mg of thujone. but the gov't isn't really cracking down on blends that contain more and an are closer the the original recipe. and if you want to order domestically, buy pricey,

check it (http://www.absinth.com/). they're right around the corner from me, so i hope to check them out this week. i'll let you guys know.

try not to cut your ear off when on the stuff. i'm not even sure i'd like the stuff i just like that drinking it sounds like an event, with the heating it up and the silver spoon and such.

drinking real absinthe is just crazy. i've done a lot of drugs but i will not EVER touch the stuff after witnessing 4 people drink it. one ended up in the hospital, one was blacked out for about 3 hours in a comalike state (we thought he was dead), and the other two were just out of their fucking minds. These were druggie raver kids too, I'd seen them do loads and loads of everything under the sun and i thought absinthe was gonna make them finally lose it.

its not something i'd order off the internet and drink a whole bottle of.
