a buddy of mine from high school (rip), who went to georgetown, told me about an annual event in the dc area. here's the link (http://www.kidneywdc.org/dc101chili_23rd.cfm)
this idea was brought on by alice's charity thread, but i figured if it was a hit on the board, why not pass on the idea on to the boys. a live remote from nyc to benefit a charity and bring members together. i make a mean pot of chili, so why not.
can it happen? what would it require? it's just an idea i'm throwing out - i figure competing with the dc event would be in bad taste and the press they could receive in ny could bring them back. what do people think?

The chili cook off here in DC is great. It use to be a pretty small thing, with one or two bands playing in a park in G-town, but now that WHFS does the annual HFSTival every summer, and bring in all the big name alt rock bands DC-101's cook off has gotten bigger and bigger into a block party.
Still pretty nice.

i'm just throwin shit at the wall and seeing if it sticks. if people would be into it, then the next stage is passing it by the boys. then come organizing. this post isn't intended to be a sign up sheet.

all right, i need people to shoot me down or give me some feed back. i think it's a good idea for a board event, publicity to possibly get r&f back to ny, and an opportunity to contribute to a charity.
i need to find out if it's something people would do, feasible, and something the boys would go for.

If the boys are into it, I'm sure rf.net would be interested in co-sponsoring it.
