I graduated seven years ago this summer, and I still keep in touch with about 30 or so I went to school with. Which is odd, since it was overseas and I only live "near" like half a dozen, and most of THOSE people I don't keep in touch with. I guess because we all ended up so far apart we made more of an effort to keep in touch.

It's been 19 years now, and I still keep in touch with 2 people from the two high schools I went to during my last year in high school - one from each.

One is still a very good friend, and another is someone I swap e-mail with every year or so.

There are a couple I hear from out of the blue every so often, but damn...it's almost 20 years!

The schools were very small - one had 150 people total, while the other was less than 75.

none regularly.

there are two or three who will pop up sporadically to catch up, and then we'll stop talking again for long periods of time. usually, that's my doing.

i think it says a lot about a person to see how many friends they still have from high school, years later. i'm just not sure what.

I only see them when I go down to the roadside bar. I was walking in, my buddy was walking out.
We went back inside sat down had a few drinks
but all he kept talking about was

Chorus:
Glory days well they'll pass you by
Glory days in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days

He sure could throw that old speedball by you, whatever that means.

But my best friend from HS is in NC now. we don't talk on the phone, but we do call each other when i visit NC and when he comes home to LI. i actually went to his wedding a couple of months ago. and i have another friend i don't talk to much, but do email. i end up breaking any plans the two of us make though to hang out....so i can't say this person is a great friend anymore.

Only a few here and there. I really thought we'd be closer. I see Andy every once in a while at the 7-11. Works for his dad in construction. Claire moved out to Hollywood looking for stardom. I heard she ended up working for Heidi Fliess. Allison lives in Soho now as an artist. I went to see one of her shows once. Live modern art with naked people. Wierd. Her dandruff cleared up though. I don't know what happened to Bender. Rumor has it he is either a bounty hunter out in Montana, or bounces at a strip club in Phoenix. Brian calls me every Thanksgiving but I hang up on him.

I do have a couple of friends from either pre-high school, or those I met when I was in high school, just not at the same school as them - one of whom is a huge Ron and Fez fan, and swears he has tape of me calling R&F and making Ron laugh, but I don't believe him.

I regularly speak to about 5 of my fellow members of the Class of '88 - two were in my wedding party.

But there's a loyal 'family' base of about 20 of us who don't keep in touch regularly, but get together at weddings and recently (unfortunately) funerals. And when we do get together we're so familiar with each other that it's like we just hung out yesterday.

Indeed!

This Class of 1981 [christ, can others PLEASE put what year they graduated? it's not like we're asking age] that I graduated had a very St. Elmo's fire type thing going, just without the bad ensemble acting. But we got together on all the holidays and shit. and fucking A; two of them are killed in T-Day 1984.

You know the day before Thanksgiving? Go to a bar on that night? It's a frigging high school reunion; coz everyone is back in town, or most, and theyre out having a few and hey theres Mike and there's Sean. Well, we all got toether and drunk and less then 24 hours later I'm watching a body bag on Live at 5.

My long way of saying yes; for the ones that survived.

Angry? Because we don't keep in touch with people from 20 years ago? PAH!

I graduated 1994.

I wouldn't say I was angry, I had a relatively decent high school experience. I dated, played sports, went to parties. My issue with hanging out at places where I know there will be people from my high school there is that many of them feel that life ended when we walked off the football field with our graduation tassles in hand. It makes me laugh that you can still get ass because you were prom king 12 years ago.

Like I said, I only graduated only about 7 years ago in 1997 so that's probably a big part of it. That, and it was a small school overseas, so it was no doubt a closer social scene.

And yes, there's quite a few people here much older than I, and people drift apart...but then again, those of us that graduated in the last 10 years had the benefit of things like e-mail and ICQ (And now IM) that make keeping in touch so easy.

I don't know...it just seems like so many of you are writing "none" with such spite and glee...am I in the minority for actually enjoying the hell out of high school?

Ha - ha - Mojo's young. My cat was born when you were in 2nd grade!

am I in the minority for actually enjoying the hell out of high school?

They were the best of times - they were the worst of time...

I enjoyed HS for the most part (even though I was thrown out of two of them during my 4 year stint), and did manage to stay in touch with many of my friends from that time. A lot of us went to the same college (Waffle State University - Home Of The Fighting Jamimas (http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/viewmessages.cfm/Forum/80/Topic/35686/page/The_CLETUS__South_Carolina_Punk_Band__Connection.h tm)), and that is where I ended up making my true, lifelong friends.

There were, though, a lot of really bad things that went down. At a boarding school, I was forced to deal with a lot of ugly realities shouldn't have to deal with. Still, I wouldn't change any of that, especially the friends I had during that time.
