I've been thinking about this for awhile and I think I want to go talk to someone. I haven't been feeling happy for awhile now. I was just wondering if anyone else goes to see someone. And if you do, what do you do there and stuff. Thanks.

Do it man. Nothing to be ashammed of. You go and just talk. You say whatever you need to get off your chest. No judgements or anything. Its usually a very comfortable environment. It helps.

Make sure that you see a professonal. Your friends and family are too involved with your problems and cannot objectively give you any solutions. On the other hand, a professional can be objective and they are trained not to laugh in your face!!!!

I've though about it myself. But when I looked in the HMO book I saw, Therapist, Pchcologist, Pshychiarist, certified social workers. etc..., and I didn't pursue it any futher.

Me and my brother went to a psychologist when we were younger after my parents got divorced. Didnt help. All she tried to do was help me push the pain into a vault in the back of my head.

My mom would bring us to the place early so my brother and I could play board games in the waiting room. Only good part of the whole experience.

I find it easier(and cheaper) to deal with my problems on my own rather then have someone help me pussyfoot around them.

But hey, what do I know? I'm no psychologist.

It'd probably be a much different experience for you based on the fact that the problems you may be having are not the one's I went for.

i went to one for a while, well 2 actually, same office, just one gave me shit that did nothing for me except give me most of the side effects, none of what its supposed to do. Then she wouldn't chang me to something else when i told her it was doing nothing for me. As for the other one, she rarely ever actually instigated any conversation, most of the time was spent in complete silence. During one of the rare conversation episodes, she more of less told me i was fucked, so i haven't been back there.
The way i see i, there is an inherant problem with it, because you have to be willing to tell them everything, and the sort it out yourself. Plus the things you tell them will almost surely be skewed in your direction, so you'll be giving them your own version of things, as opposed to the actual versions.
But hell, it worked for other people, so go for it kid.
