I was watching one of the I Love The 80's episodes a few months back and saw and reconnected with these lovely stickers. I loved these as a kid and in my Junior High years. I had a shitload but as the dumb kids we were, we stuck them everywhere and on our Trapper Keepers and eventually they disappeared from existence.

I looked around my Dad's and went through my old stuff loking for traces of them but no luck. I even remember a few years back wanting to reconnect with them and looking online for just some of the artwork from the stickers and NO DICE!

After seing the bit on VH1 I hunted some down on eBay and found two different websites on them. I even found myself wanting to scratch my screen and sniff.
Trend Stinky Stickers (http://www.homestead.com/stinkystickers/stinky1982.html)
Bubbledog's Trend Sticker Collection (http://www.bubbledog.com/sns/trend.html)

The funny thing is that when I started bidding and buying them again and eventually getting them, the Matte variety of them still smell. Quite potent I must add. The grass one burnt my nose a bit and when I got the oil one the whole envelope smelled like motor oil. It amazes me how after 20 years they still stink.

Since my record collecting has pretty much come to a standstill these things have been a good replacement for a new hobby for me. These are going to be a bitch to get them all but it should be fun.
