...Fuck it it's the end of the year, it's the holidays, everyone is depressed, so I'm gonna screw it and gloat my ass off. Flame Away.

http://members.aol.com/miketeachr/fathin

I lost 100 pounds. Picture on the Left is me at 360, with Sonny himself, Chaz P. One of the coolest photos I have, and no one's ever seen it coz of the enormous bloated fat fuck in a 64L Tux isn't exactly a vision of health. On the right was T-Day morning, after stepping off a scale at 260. I fit a 50L. I don't know if that's sizes, but my tux guy had the numbers. 14 sizes is what he said. Who cares.

How? I don't know. Diet? Yes: I ate everything I wanted, just a shitload less. And, sadly, zero booze. Zero. 20 months. Someone have a drink on me, and play the song while ya do. Please. Seriously, someone start drinking. 5 pounds a month don't sound like much compared to the Stacker 2 claims [which is fucking poison, by the way], but there ya go. My gloat. I dropped 100. A century. A C Note. Five Score.

However, I think you look better in the fat picture - but only because of the tux.

Now I have to remind myself to stop eating everything in sight.

Q: Are Inches Sizes in Men'a Wear?

I mean I know they are, coz that's how you get them, you know a 48 Regular, 52 Long, etc.

I won't even begin to ask what the size system is for ladies. Shoes or dresses. But when I went to get a tux last week, the guy had all my numbers, and said in his Italian Accent, "You've a-lost a-fourteen a-sizes." I'd like to think that, but I'm not sure I'm buying it. And why are the numbers all even? No one wear a 43, or a 51? Thats what I mean, are those sizes too?

Yes your inches are sizes. It's so easy, right? I mean, the size actually corresponds to the size of the garment. Women's clothing is way more complicated. I suspect that the sizes are even numbered so that they don'thave to make as many of them? I'm sure custom tailored stuff comes in whatever fractions of inces you need. Womens (American) sizes also tend to be just even numbers (2-4-6-8 etc) but some places have things like 5/6 or 7/8. Not that it much matters; sizes are so variable anyhow.

I can easily believe you've lost 14 suit sizes; suit sizes are measured as circumfrence around the chest (whereas men''s shirts are neck/sleeve and pants are waist/inseam). 100 lbs is a LOT of girth you're losing there!

Mike, awesome job! I hope to be gloating about the same thing this time next year (although my goal is to lose 75) cause I was faced with a medical emergency that is forcing me to lose the weight. Just seeing your before and after pics has been inspiring. Congrats again and thank you if thats appropriate. Thanks for the warning on Stacker 2 cause I almost started using that.

Someone have a drink on me, and play the song while ya do.

If no one else got that I am sure glad I did.

What I find really funny here is the little areas on the ticket; "Affair Date" wow that could be taken wrong. "Single?" why not just write "Virgin" instead. And the special "Prom" category. I guess that means they need the heavy-duty detergent to get the blood puke and semen off the cumberbund...

Way to go, Mike! That's the kind of inspiration I need (would love to shed 50+ pounds). Put into the framework of one year, it actually seems possible.

And while I understand the health concerns (oh boy, do I ever!), based simply on that picture, you carried the weight well - but maybe that is the tux!

CONGRATS!!!!

OK I figured out a c note must be representitive of the quantity of 100 (or some such figure) from this post and The Magic Stick song, but can someone explain the exact definition of a C Note to me? Where did it come from?

EDIT: This is what I got on the google search, but I want to know the origin still:

the C in c-note comes from the Metric system - stands for 100. As for C-Note, it's slang for a$100 bill.

They have Opie and Anthony in the urban dictionary, but not ron and fez. We should make a definition and put it in there. Who has the best one?

Yeah The "C" stand for something else besides poononny.

I think the 'C-note' is from what everyone else said, and "C" = 100 in Roman Numerals, thats why all the films before 2000 went like:

MCM = 1900. For some reason the 100 is subtracted here from the two "M" 1,000's and fuck why am I doing math?

What I want to know:

A Five is a Fin

A Ten is a Saw Buck

Two Bits = a quarter [?]

Where did these come from?

And I call 20's a "Twenski" hadda chime in for some reason.

--------------------------------

And for all the congrats, seriously thanks. This is how I dealt with my midlife crisis, or whatever the fuck happens at 40. I wish I had some real advice for how to do it. I ate less, and fired my lawn service and bought a lawn mower and cut the lawn even when it didn't. And don't think 100 pounds. I put it on one forkful at a time. Was I hungry? All the time. But i was, to borrow the title of a book, Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired. I gotta long way to go. I still eat like shit. Skinny guys my age are having heart attacks. Fucking scary.

[Edit: And this belongs in the confessional, but I have the worst fear of Heart Attacks. I can think of SO many other ways I'd rather go. You ever eat a lot, and have that 'mini heart attack'? That one second of sharp pain right under the sternum? Food related, but those, when I was real heavy, sometimes scared me right into an ER.]

Mizzle, I want to offer a heatfelt congratulations because what you did is not an easy task.

I only wish you had the urge to eat less before you met Chaz. What I'm trying to say is.... Why did you have to eat Chaz Palmeteri? WHY?!

(murmer from the crowd)

Oh... what?! When is the last time you saw Chaz P.? WHEN?

I'd bet a sawbuck that it was right around the time that picture was taken.

Congrats, Mike. Hope you can keep it off. As of Christmas morning, I had lost 32 lbs (starting from just before Halloween). I only have 4 more lbs to go to reach my (as determined by some formula) ideal weight of 196. I'm right there with you when it comes to watching the desserts and all the stuff you want to eat go by and you can't eat as much as you'd like.

Couldn't give up the beer myself, though...
