Not to long ago I read a "Keller's Take" on pwtorch.com that was very interesting. He posed the idea of overhauling Shawn Michaels entire gimmick because of his ability to work full time for the WWE. Here's a follow up by The Showstoppa.

I agree with Wade's take on Shawn's music. There's absolutely no reason for Fish-Boy to keep coming out to "Sexy Boy." There's just something so very wrong with a strict, married, born-again Christian having music that brags about how he turns on ringrats.

In my opinion, HBK's character is best left alone. They tried to modernize him a bit with the D-X gimmick, but that was kinda weird to see Shawn come out to that music. Anyway you slice it, the guys age is gonna be a factor for his image being that his in ring skills slowed down a lot and the fact that he doesnt look like much of a spring chicken anymore.

I was a big HBK fan and really dug him with D-X, but he feels like such a non-entity now. They need to do something that upgrades his image, but doesn't overhaul his character.

And I'd said to a friend recently that I'd consider buying a Shawn shirt, if they weren't all overt Christian imagery.

I don't understand his push over the last year. Every time he wins a match I think, aww isn't that nice to give the old guy a win over a young guy. But then he goes no where with that win and loses a week later, so why not give a younger, more talented wrestler a push and let HBK fade off into the sunset. At this point, he's no longer the Heart Break Kid anymore anyway. It's just too weird to see the religious angle to a wrestling shirt anyway.
