Stufed peppers is one of my top ten dinner recepies. If done right, they truley rock.

Did you do the meat and rice first, then stuff (my way)

or did you put the shit in raw (European style)

Was the sause homemade? I got a good recipe..

Now I'm starvin'

stuffed peppers are one of the only things i know how to cook, and they're really good. i prefer stuffed cabbage, taste-wise, but they are much harder to make than the pepper variety.

I love stuffed cabbage! I DO make an AWESOME cornbread stuffed cabbage with mushroom sauce.

It's great, but no one wants to partake so I haven't made it in eons. (The recipe is from

i cook everything first and then stuff the pepper the trick is to boil the peppers for approx. 3 miniutes before stuffing them. this cuts down on the baking time and they will not dry out. i used canned sauce but know how to make homemade "gravy"

I make-em a lot in the summer when I'm getting bell peppers outta my garden.
Shit, I just bought a nice orange one for 2 bucks.
I likes to bake several at one time.
I cut the tops off in a zig zag pattern.
I likes to put different things in each.
Sliced onion, garlic or tomato.
Sometimes for meat, I'll fry up some hamburger and hot pork sausage together.
Stuffed peppers- 'nother good way to get more bacon in your diet.
I'll cut me some chives from the garden and put them in there....

Yeah, stuffed peppers- that's some good eatin'.

Stuffed peppers are awesome. I'll substitute meat with chicken, and top off with shredded mozzerella sometimes.

I think my mom didnt cook the chop meat first, rather, put it inside the pepper raw with rice, but you way sounds healthier. I havent had them in years and now I want one!

hmm - vegetarian? I wonder how this would be in a pepper:

brown rice
feta
spinach

the sauce? Red would be ok, or maybe some lemon juice and vegetable broth. Hmm now I'm starvin...

A few months back, skid and I had dinner at his dad's house (his dad is a retired butcher and an AWESOME cook!!).

Skid started to clear the dishes (he's good like that!) and on his way back to the dining room noticed a bag of the most *perfect* red peppers. About the size of a man's fist, perfectly red, no wrinkles, blemishes, or discoloration. He asked his dad about it. His dad said he planned to make stuffed peppers out of them. Even though I had just had a full meal, my mouth salivated at the thought of those perfect RED peppers being used for stuffed peppers.

Must have been awesome!

And he got them at a Cosco!

in case you didnt catch it, though I am a computer geek and a full time dad, I am also an amateur chef. I LOVE to cook for people and try new things. I hear from a reliable source (or 2) that my chicken soup with matzo balls is to die for, and my grilled filet mignon on potato leek pancake is also a hit. Yes I like to cook.

I just was given some Southern Comfort (yeah- they make the booze) Creole something or other Barbecue Sauce and it is outstanding!
It's a Memphis-style sauce.
For my Memphis-style, I go with the Corky's (which I bring back from there) which is a classic, but this stuff is a little less sweet and is the best I've had.

my wife (assuming it lasts) hates cabbage so it's been years since I've had a good stuffed cabbage or cabbage and noodles. I am jealous.

Here's another specialty - chicken with butter and sauteed spinach and garlic.

damn hungry again.

so anyone interested in a "ronfez.net" potluck dinner? Everyone brings a dish or some form of alcohol and we have a get together?

Just wondering. Sounds gay to some, but it could be a good way to meet some of the more shy but creative board members.
