Was driving the other day and there was a 'slight mist' coming down and it was just enough to impair my vision but not enough to make the wiper blade move smoothly across the windshield. So you get the annoying 'dry windshield/wiper blade dull screeching' sound. Maybe i need new blades?

Also when i watch TV and an actor or actress is talking with their mouth full or at certain times when someone is tapping on something with their hand, foot, or while holding a key or pen.

So, what kind of noises 'bug ya'?

I'm deathly afraid of the old nails on the chalkboard thing. As a semi-professional student, I dread being in classrooms while the teacher is writing on the board. The funny part is that when I hear that noise, it doesn't bother me that much. It's the anticipation/fear of hearing it that makes me squirm to the point of having to leave the room.

That, and Justin Timberlake keening.

{how about the neighbors visitor who chooses to continually beep the car horn instead of walking the 10ft to ring the bell...}

For me it's the neighbor's daughter (our neighborhood baby factory), who brings all of her babies to dump on her mother at all hours of the day and night, and is too damned lazy to get out of her car, she sits and honks and screams at her mother to hurry up. Pisses me off when she does it at 11 at night when my kids are trying to get some sleep!!

The other one that makes me insane is our nextdoor neighbors son, you can hear the bass in his truck a block away and when he parks in Mom and Dad's driveway, which is 10 feet from my bedroom wall, my walls and windows shake, he doesn't care if it's 6 in the morning or midnight.

I need to move! :)

I think I'm hypersensitive to sounds because so many drive me mad!
I hate:
the sound of socked feet rubbing together
bass coming through the walls from someone else's stereo
any kind of snoring
running water on the other end of a phone (like someone washing dishes when you're trying to talk to them)
high-pitched squeals from computers/light bulbs going bad/unidentified sources

I'm really sensitive to sound, and I wish I wasn't.

I can't stand the sound of someone else eating. If someone in a room is eating potato chips I have to leave the room. Same with chewing ice, salads, anything.

I also can't stand it when I'm on the subway and I can just barely hear the music in someone's earbuds or headphones. Sometimes you can hear music from someone's Ipod halfway across the car.

Makes me nuts.

A world of ditto. My cubicle "buddy" has her headphones on so loud that I can hear them when I have my headphones on.

Also, the old dude downstairs has Fox News on full blast till midnight. You're not that fucking deaf, dude, so I can only think you're trying to make us switch parties. Bill O'Reilly at 100 decibels* is not the way to go about it, dear.

Cockstrong and I live on the first floor of an apartment building.

At first I was the only person to hear this sound but one night I made him listen for it for crazy long until he heard it.

At night there is this buzz. Like someone's cell phone is on vibrate and it rings once EVERY 20 SECONDS. There's literally a buzz every few seconds.

We spent a whole night trying to figure out where it was coming from and can't do it. Our only guess is tat it's coming from inside the wall, and it's got to do with some kind of electricalthing or plumbing...

Soooo annoying.

People eating on the phone, and rustling candy packages in the theater.

The worst sound I ever heard only happened once. I used to shoot a compound bow. I didn't have any hay bails to use as a backstop, so I used a giant cube of styrofoam. When I pulled the aluminum arrows out of the foam block, the sound was like a million fingers on chalkboards.
