So, on Saturday night me, Amy and NiN head out to D&B's at the mall for the party. We get to the parking lot and see these folks getting into their car, it's pretty close to the door so we decided to wait there for them to get in and pull out of the spot so we could take it. Naturally they had to just sit there for what seemed like 3 or 4 minutes, while we're sitting there. Meanwhile parking spots a little further up are opening up and now we're getting pissed. Finally they back out and we take the spot.
Today, I went to Target on my lunch hour to get one or two gifts for people. I see this man and woman going to their car, it's right near the entrance, so I decide to wait. I sat there for at least 5 minutes waiting while they talked and did whatever else. Meanwhile a line of cars is forming behind me. I hate when people do that. When I get back to my car I generally make an effort to get out of the spot as quickly as I can so someone else can get in. I definitely don't sit there and do nothing, especially if I can see someone's looking to take the spot.

A perfect example of why people suck.

I hate it when you see people waiting for a spot. Just keep driving around. I don't have a car, but I get a secret joy when people follow me around in their car, waiting for me to open up a spot.

I just park wherever I find an open spot. Never understood waiting around to park closer, I mean, I have legs.
Of course holiday time at places like the Garden State Plaza when you have people parking on all the medians and berms and all that doesn't work as well :)

I don't necessarily look for the absolute closest spot either, I'm fine with finding the first spot i can as well. This just happened to be right by the door so we went for it.

When im at a store thats busy, and i know someone is goin to be waiting for a spot, i pull out as fast as i can.
however, before i do that, i walk through a few other rows with my keys in my hand so that everyone sees me and thinks im goin to my car. they proceed to slowly creep behind me, thinkin they are about to get an excellent spot, until i duck between two cars into another row and ruin their day

Oooooh, I want so badly to just open fire.
What also pisses me off is when they get something resembling "pee-shyness".
They finally get their seat positioned, mirrors adjusted, seatbelt on (then unbuckling it, take their coat off, then rebuckle), packages sorted, change counted, receipts revued, tv guide consulted, etc.
THEN the bastards start the car and put it in reverse.
You're giving them plenty of room and are obviously waiting for the space, so what do they do?
They give you this panicked look, as if to say: "Oh shit! I can't just back out of this space in front of everybody! Look, Mabel, people are looking!
So they then sit there, hoping you will drive on, so they can pull out in privacy.
If you still sit there, they blush and have to talk it over.
"Mabel, he's looking."
Mabel looks around, turning her whole body. "Better wait, Frank. They don't look too friendly".
"Yeah, and if someone sees me, I'm sure it'll be all over the papers the very next day."
"We weren't raised like that."
"Yeah, these young kids today...."
"Right, they have no shame. It's anything goes..."

On the flip side, flash back to saturday night, same parking lot, I'm sitting there waiting for some spot...ANY spot to open up, and a guy walks up to my car and actually ASKS ME if I need a spot, and tells me where his car is. Its pretty far away, so I offer him a ride, he declines. But as I'm following him to the spot, he remotely starts the car so its all warmed up for him when he gets there, he jumps right in, and leaves with a wave, and a smile from me. It was truly a Christmas miracle and really got me in the right mood to deal with you people.

If whomever ooks like a real snot and is incredibly persistent about taking my spot (and you can usually tell the assholes) I pull out the keys and make like I am going to my car although it is not my car. I did this a few times last year just to see if the morons would follow me.
Sheep.
Does it kill your expensive shoes to walk a little bit? Oh NO! Snow! Slush! AYE!
Damn those who think they are too good to park out in bumbleville!

I regularly visit the mall that D&B's is in, and during the holidays, there's never parking, nevermind spots to walk to. You pretty much have to circle and follow and all that annoying bullshit.
But the cool thing is they put valet parking over by the best buy, so you toss a guy a couple bucks, he parks your car for you and you can save all the time and aggrivation of parking.

There were times when I drove to the Palisades Mall and couldn't find any parking (valet wasn't available) so i just turned around and went back home.
Thank God for the valet parking there; definitely worth the $5.
I hate when people follow me to my car. I usually am a bitch and try to take a longer route to my car, or act like I'm trying to find it. I've had offers of people willing to drive me to my space so they can have it, but my mommy always warned me never to get into a stranger's car.

This is the story of my campus parking for the last 3 years. Its the only way to travel.
Parking just sucks in general. I live in the suburbs and it still sucks. I hate coming home from work at 1Am and parking my car around the block. Last year, I got into a fight with a neighbor because they were taking a spot that I had just shoveled the snow from and had zipped into while I had pulled my car up for a minute.
Its getting to the point where I'm going to have to triple-park like friggin Flatbush Ave.
See Ya!

Yeah, at roosevelt field there is valet also (I thnk it's $3), but it's free if you have a bloomingdale's card. I love it.
