I know a lot of people that will be angry that you ignored many of Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" shows.

I added adult swim. I have no idea what shows that would be. I thought Cartoon Network was just Kid Cartoons and re-runs of Futurama.

Aqua Teen Hungerforce

Just watched the first season + on DVD.

I need candy, any kind will do
Don't care if it's nutritious or FDA approved.
It's gonna make me spaz like bobcats on booze,
A hyperactive juice that only I can produce
To use a giant drill bore straight into hell
Releasing ancient demons from their sleep-forever spell
So they can walk upon the earth and get resituated
And hawk the diet pills MC Pee Pants has created.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I guess my title was incorrect.

I was thinking about the adult humor based animated shows. Other than being animated, they would just be sit coms.

I'm not a hardcore animation fan. I've only watched Cartoon Network to see Star Wars:Clone Wars and reruns of Family Guy and Futuama.

that was tough deciding between Simpsons and Family guy - gave the nod to Family guy as they havent had as many shows, and those I've seen were consistenly funny, while the Simpsons were all over the board.

I guess no one counts Samurai Jack or Justice League as they arent really for adults :-)

Family Guy.

And really, neither Spider-Man (MTV version) nor Clerks deserves to be on that list. They range from mediocre (Spidey) to downright awful (Clerks). And as many here indicated, "Adult Swim" should have really be define more specifically in terms of the actual shows, like ATHF or SeaLab 2021.

Oh, and indeed, Samurai Jack owns.

I originally was just going to put the firt 5 on the list but thought of SM and Clerks (which I liked, but without being a Kevin Smith Viewaskew fan I can see people not liking it, And ABC Cancelling it). I added adult swim but I don't know any of the shows outside of Space Ghost, Family Guy and Futurama. I'll try to redo the list. Is that allowed?

I voted for Family Guy (Which BTW, for some reason Kevin Smith has a problem with Seth McFarlane, Jealous I guess) I love Simpsons but Family Guy has me laughing almost as much as Ron and Fex do.

Well, being that the Simpsons is the greatest television show ever, cartoon or not, I have to go with that.

In the cartoon realm, South park comes in in a close second.

I would have said sour grapes, except in the season 3 Simpsons DVD Groening (or Brooks) also take shots at family guy. Maybe something went on behind the scenes we're just not privy to.

Adult swim is actually so many cartoons, btw, that polling for them individually will only dilute the poll, imo...

off the top of my head...
ATHF
Sealab 2021
SGC2C
Brak
Harvey Birdman
Home Movies
Futurama
Family Guy
Oblongs
Mission Hill (Strangeland)
Cowboy Bebop
Reign the conquerer
Trigun
Big O
FlCl <- I loved this series, personally
Blue Gender
Inuyasha

and I know there's more...

Clerks cartoon starts out mediocre, but they don't find their footing till about episode 4, then it gets alot tighter. But it shows they'd never done tv like that before.

And I liked the Spiderman cartoon on mtv.

Your whole poll is now invalid because you deleted votes, changed nominees, added new candidates, and anyone who already voted can't vote again.

I hear you. I changed it back to the way it was.

I didn't delete or change anything with votes on them that's why "Adult Swim" was #8 instead of being #10. I did change Clerks and Spiderman since they had zero votes. I then added two more choices. They are back to the choices they have been since the 14th. #9 and #10 are called Blank because it won't let me delete them.

I did add Adult Swim after mikeyboy's post (that was within 2 hours of my original posting of the poll)

So I feel this poll is now 100% scientific. My findings will be used in my bid for a Nobel Prize!

Adult contempory Animated show

I admit, I opened this thread out of curiosity, as I didn't know what "Adult contempory Animated show" meant. I figured it was something like Celine Dion meets the Jetsons.

I've only seen The Simpsons, and only a few episodes, so I didn't vote.

My favorite "Easy Listening" animated show is Dora the explorer.

Groening has been very down on Family Guy & Seth since that show began, and there are some conspiracy theories that he was partially behind the royally fucked up scheduling that FG got on Fox. The theory, at least the rumored one, was that Groening felt FG was a ripoff of the Simpsons (big fat stupid guy as lead, with wife, three kids, wacky friends, etc.), which I find quite ridiculous - if anything, Family Guy is a PARODY of the Simpsons.

But perhaps Groening feels that way too, in which case he'd be pissed either way.

I was waiting for someone to mention my dumb radio format themed title. I didn't know what to call these cartoons. They aren't Cartoons for Kids and Aren't Porno Cartoons.

About Seth and Family Guy: Has anyone from FG said something bad about other crew? I haven't heard the commentaries from the FG DVDs do they mention this "feud"?

And Simpson's didn't create the Dumb Fat Guy, Thin stay at home Wife, Three Kids and Wacky Nextdoor neighbor format. Simpsons is a PARODY of the tipical sitcom.
