Reesh, this has been happening for a while. In fact it has reached epidemic proportions in Japan. The reason the perpetrators are able to do it is because cell cameras are silent. The Japanese government, I believe, was talking about passing legislation that all cell cams have a device installed on them that makes the tell tale "click" of a camera to alert women that this is happeneing. That's fucking crazy.

This is true!

And I figured out why I often come across as an ass here. In the classroom, the teacher's role, if they are good, is to get out of the way of the teaching. If I can get a class debating something, and step away, hey we have Something.

But I would jump in to play Devil's Advocate. Meaning this: Can you debate, succesfully, the exact Opposite poistion that you feel on a subject. This is also something I introduce, to be able to, if not agree with a stance, attempt to argue it, to construct a logical stance.

So when I hear something I might jump in and be that Nudge in class that says "Wait! What about if THIS Happens..." Yes, johnny, we all know there's a million weird scenarios, shut up and sit down, ya moron!

Technology is indeed a double edged sword, and I presented the left hand. The right hand of technology is a sweeping, revolutionary, planet wide change in human society. It's albolutely asymptotic; we're just exploding with the data, and can't apply it fast enough.

The Good:

Cars! Get us around nice and quick! Rain? No problem. 200 miles? no problem. Have a group of 5, with three toddlers; hey, that mini-van is the shizzle.

The Bad:

Cars! Burn fossil fuels! CO2 NO2 SO2 cough! And the thousands, the legions of the dead from accidents.

Vaccines! As discussed quite correctly in another thread, Vaccines are GREAT in that they can literally irradicate some diseases, but SUCK because of the possibility of a Tenacious Captain Trips strain evolving due to the viral shape-shifting.

Me? I love the auto, and argue strongly for vaccination. For Now.

Im sure it wasnt what the makers intended when they thought of this stuff to add onto cell phones, but I read that healthclubs are taking a preemptive stance by banning cell use within their confines, because of the liability. People are taking photos with their phones in the dressing rooms! I hear new phones that are due out next year will be able to shoot short video recordings. Wonderful.
