TRU in Times Squre is doing a promo. Starting today (12/10) if you buy a LOTR monopoly, risk, trivial pursuit or chess game and take the receipt to "personal shopping" on the third floor, you can get one of 750 tickets to a private signing event with Andy Serkis on Wed, 12/16 1-5 pm. There is also a raffle where you can win the dagger he used in lotr, and also a separate raffle (not affiliated with this event) where you can win one of 8 props that were actually used in th emovie (again you need to buy a specially marked one of those games, and the details will be inside the game).

Since I couldn't very well take the day off to go all the way to the city just to get a ticket, I sent my mom to do it for me. She got there around 2:30 and got ticket number 22; clearly they aren't moving that fast. So if any of you all are interested, you should go check it out.

Thankfully, he countered this by being AWESOME in "24 Hour Party People".

You're right MojoPin, I forgot all about that. That would have been a great film for last night's show about under-watched movies. I loved the bit where Hannett forces the drummer to record on the roof. Priceless.
