Tomorrow is the 23rd anniversary of John Lennon's death. I like going to Strawberry Fields (Central Park @ 72nd Street) and being with all the Beatlemaniacs on that day.

Damn, when all that happened in 1980, it was so strange. I remember the morning after he was killed, our English teacher told us that her daughter and her friend had brought him a birthday cake a couple of months earlier, and John and Yoko actually came downstairs to meet them. Can you imagine that?

Man, the security guy at the Dakota really fucked up that night. Christ, how hard is it to watch the entrance of the building?

Well, is anyone else going tomorrow? You might want to check it out. It's always kind of surrealistic.

Not now, Johnny.

This is Pearl Harbor Day.

Well, it was kind of cold, but the Beatle/Lennon maniacs were out in full force. There was even a sing-along to "Oh Yoko!"

One more observation: fat people (including myself) love The Beatles.

The un-official anthem of Pearl Harbor Day.
