outdoor smoking + golf = a better golf swing

i can't smoke in my house and i wouldn't if i could. so i step out into the backyard with a golf club. there's a dusting of snow on the ground which is the foundation. pick a shot (some sort of target) and take a swing.

with a nice clean stroke, there is a very small mark. i figure out where my club is striking and compensate for the next shot in some clean snow.

winter's here and here to stay - now there's something to do instead of snow angels.

Golf always sounded like fun to me. I just heard on the radio where you can get a "starter" set for $99 bucks. Still, you gotta worry about lessons, course fees, shoes, plaid pants, etc. If I ever became a golfer, I'd only go out on days where it's really nice so that I could enjoy the weather. You wouldn't see me outside when it's all cloudy or threatening to snow. Screw that... I'll stay inside with my girl and... um, screw that.

lessons are bullshit. you dont need them. everyone tries to teach a certain way, and that doesnt work. people swing how they are comfortbale, so go to a range and feel it out. you dont need golf shoes, normal shoes with good grip is fine, and all you need is khaki pants.

it is expensive though
