I'd like to point out that I wrote this very quickly in the 2 minutes that I am able to pull out of this damn cable modem every few days.
Adelphia is the only digital cable service and cable modem provider in my area, so I'm basically stuck.
The tech support is by far the worst in the world. None of the employees on the phones are any help. "Unplug your modem, plug it back it." When that genius approach doesn't work you have to wait for a technician to come out. This often takes more than a week. So you're then forced to go without internet service for a week at a time, which is completely unacceptable.
Then when the tech support gets to your house, SOMETIMES they get it to work for a day or two. When it doesn't work it's my network card. Oh, it snowed a half an inch 2 weeks ago? Well it's the weather, not us.
Some big idiot came to my house 2 weeks ago and got it to work for a while. I asked for a new modem, but he said that was not necessary. Well somethings wrong with it.
Also, the cable service is horrific. Just about every week they'll be a period of time that the cable is completely out.
This may seem like a lot of bitching, but it's a huge hassle to have to call up every other day because something isn't working properly. Does anyone else have Adelphia? And if so, has your experience been as bad as mine?
